Thank you to all the families who came to the Duane Lions Club Child Vision Screening at the Duanesburg Ambulance Open House on Saturday 6/13.

Screenings are available in Duanesburg, surrounding communities, and throughout the Capital District for community organizations, homeschool groups, churches, and other groups for children 1 year and older. Our screenings are free, fast and touchless and conducted by members certified under the Lions KidSight Vision Screening Program. The screen for vision problems not covered by most typical school and pediatric vision exams and can help detect potential vision conditions that, if caught early, can prevent a lifetime of poor vision. Also follow us to watch for future community screenings.

FREE VISION SCREENINGS FOR CHILDREN AGES 1 AND UP.

Duanesburg Ambulance Open House, Saturday 6/13, 9am-4pm. We'll be in the Wellness Center all day. NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY.

These screenings are touchless and take only a few seconds and screen for possible vision problems not normally detected in most routine pediatric or school screenings. The earlier we can detect these problems, like amblyopia, the sooner they can be diagnosed, treated and, in some cases, prevent a lifetime of poor vision. Our members are certified by and conduct screenings under the Lions KidSight Vision Screening Program.

Congratulations to Lions Minda Bongiardina and Dorthe Mayo! At our 6/3/26 club meeting they received awards presented by King Lion Kent Sanders.

Lion Minda received the Robert J Uplinger Distinguished Service Award - Lions NYS & Bermuda Foundation - for her dedication to Lionism and service to both the Duane Lions Club and the Quezon City Cubao Lions Club, Inc. in the Philippines and assistance in supporting vision initiatives for both clubs.

Lion Dorthe received the Knight of Blind Award - Lions Eye Institute/Foundation at Albany, NY - for her continued and tireless work on behalf of the blind and vision-impaired and the needs of our community including our service work for vision screening and hunger initiatives.
