Last week, several members of our local chapter had the opportunity to travel to Camp Hill for the Annual Legal & Legislative Conference—and what an incredible experience it was.

This year’s conference delivered a packed lineup of timely and impactful topics, including:

• Immigration and today’s workforce
• Managing employees through uncertainty
• Insights from the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
• Pending legislation, workplace policy updates, and emerging HR trends
• Navigating group law retirement updates
• Building a culture of compliance through effective documentation and policy implementation
• Civility in the workplace and leading with respect

Speakers from across the region came together to share expertise, practical guidance, and forward-thinking strategies that HR professionals can bring back to their organizations and communities. We’re grateful for opportunities like this that allow us to continue learning, growing, and staying ahead in the ever-changing world of HR.

We had a fantastic turnout for our April meeting last week.

A special thank you to Samm Smeltzer, Energetic Health Advocate and Founder of The HRart Center, for leading an insightful session on “The Pathology of Burnout: Mapping the Energy Behind Exhaustion.”

Samm provided a unique and thought-provoking perspective on burnout, helping us better understand how energy depletion impacts individuals, teams, and workplace culture. Attendees walked away with practical strategies to recognize early signs of burnout, how to act before it is too late, restore energy, and create more balanced and engaged workplaces.

It was great connecting with fellow HR professionals and continuing the conversation around supporting both employee well-being and organizational success.

🗓️ Save the Date! Our next chapter meeting will be held on May 21st—more details to come! We hope to see you there.
