Dryden Rotary Peace Pole dedication

Join us on Wednesday, 22 Oct at 4:00 p.m. when we dedicate a ‘Peace Pole’ on the Dryden Rail Trail!

The Peace Pole Project is worldwide and aims to spread the sentiment ‘May Peace Prevail on Earth’. The 6 foot white plastic pole features ‘May Peace Prevail on Earth’ written in English, Spanish, French, and ASL as well as a Braille plaque.

This pole was won in a drawing at CNY Rotary’s annual District Conference last April. Our club considered several locations but in the end the pole was offered to the Dryden Rail Trail committee who quickly said ‘yes’! The Town approved and the Highway Department dug the hole.

The location, near a Rail Trail kiosk where the trail crosses West Main Street in the Village, is a high traffic area which will allow many people to share the Peace Pole message. More information about Rotary Peace Poles can be found here -
