“This! This is why we rig trucks. This is why we train how to drive off road and recover vehicles. Most people won’t go down these roads…. But there are souls needing to hear the gospel, to be healed, and set free. We must go!”

Our team recently spent time in the Darién Province, one of Latin America’s most rugged and remote regions, traveling with a local pastor who faithfully visits remote villages to care for people and share the Gospel.

We repeatedly heard, “People come once, but they never come again.”

So when we said we would come, we went, even when the rain came, the roads turned to mud, and the rivers began to rise.

After reaching one remote village, we shared the Gospel, prayed for around 30 people, and watched as 15 people gave their lives to Jesus.

The journey home took nearly five hours through flooded roads and rushing creeks, but every mile was worth it.

This is why we go. Because the Gospel is worth the journey, and Jesus is worthy to be made known.

Please continue to pray for the missionaries and local pastors faithfully serving in the Darién and for the people who have yet to hear the name of Jesus.

“It’s amazing what happens when you’re in the wilderness and have no distractions- when you just get still with the Lord, it’s amazing to see what He does and how He just transforms you.”

During Cassie’s solo day with Jesus, she stepped away from the noise, the responsibilities, and the distractions of everyday life and spent intentional time alone with the Lord. With nothing to hide behind and nowhere else to turn, she was able to slow down, listen, and encounter Jesus in a deeper way.

And God met her there.
No distractions. No noise. Just Jesus.

What began as a day of solitude became a moment of transformation. In the quiet, Jesus spoke to her heart, clearer than she has ever heard Him.

“Abide in me, and I in you… Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, neither can you unless you remain in me… apart from me you can do nothing.”
John 15:4-5
