TETON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE SEIZES OVER 20,000 DOSES OF CO***NE DURING TRAFFIC STOP
VICTOR, ID - The Teton County Sheriff’s Office successfully interdicted a major narcotics shipment following a traffic stop on Pine Creek Pass earlier this week. The stop, conducted on November 10, 2025, by a Corporal with the Sheriff’s Office, resulted in the seizure of co***ne with an estimated street value exceeding $100,000.
The incident began when the Corporal initiated a traffic stop near Victor after observing multiple violations. The Corporal determined the driver, Alejandro Rene Morales of Victor, did not possess a valid driver’s license.
While investigating driving privileges, the Corporal observed factors that led him to suspect criminal activity. He requested consent to search the vehicle, which was granted by the driver. The subsequent search uncovered more than one kilogram of co***ne concealed in the vehicle.
The Corporal arrested both the driver, Alejandro Rene Morales, and the passenger, Ignacio Contreras Chaves of Jackson, Wyoming. Both individuals have been booked into custody on felony charges of Drug Trafficking in Co***ne.
Sheriff Clint Lemieux emphasized the significance of the seizure: “This is a win for Teton County. Teton County Deputies will continue to work hard to keep our schools and community safe.”
The Teton County Sheriff’s Foundation congratulates the Sheriff and Corporal for their work. This incident highlights the need for investment in training and resources to empower local law enforcement to stop high-level felony crimes before they harm our citizens.
