Local elections are often decided by just a handful of votes – sometimes even a single vote. That's why your participation in the upcoming Recreation District vote is crucial. Every single vote truly counts.

The proposed Recreation District represents a pivotal moment for our valley's future. With a fixed tax rate of 0.028% on assessed home value, we can generate approximately $1.6 million annually to:

- Maintain and improve our parks and trails
- Support youth and adult sports programs
- Provide coordinated recreation management valley-wide

The Recreation District will provide a sustainable funding source. Instead of relying on uncertain grants or stretched city budgets, we'll have dedicated resources to maintain and improve our recreational assets. This isn't just about today – it's about ensuring our children and grandchildren can enjoy well-maintained parks, trails, and programs for years to come.

Quick Facts About the Recreation District:
- Funds are legally restricted to recreation use only
- The tax rate on assessed home value is fixed at 0.028%
- An elected board of local residents will oversee all decisions
- This investment supports our community, not tourism
- Total annual funding: $1.6 million
- Cannot take on debt for major construction
Your single vote could be the one that ensures our valley has sustainable funding for recreation programs and facilities.

“As the Mayor of Victor, I support the Teton Valley Parks and Recreation District. This initiative is crucial for our community and the entire county, as it provides a fair and sustainable way to fund our parks and recreational facilities.

Currently, the City of Victor shoulders a significant financial burden to maintain and enhance the parks that serve not just our residents, but those throughout the entire County. Establishing a parks and recreation district will allow us to distribute these costs more equitably across the entire valley, ensuring that every resident has access to well-maintained outdoor spaces without over-relying on one city’s budget.

I encourage every citizen to vote in favor of this important initiative. Together, we can create a brighter future for our parks and recreation, benefiting all who call Teton Valley home.”

“I enjoy making use of the outdoor spaces in our area. This is one of the reasons why so many people choose to live here.
The trails, parks, and community sports all contribute to making our county a real treasure. People from all over come to enjoy these recreational activities in our county, whether they live here or not.
Those of us fortunate enough to call Teton Valley home should ensure that our town remains safe and accessible for future generations. Having a Recreation District oversee the maintenance and well-being of these areas would be an ideal solution. In my opinion, a small and considerate increase in taxes shared across the county is a minimal request. I intend to take advantage of all the recreational areas we have to offer. It would be wonderful to have one district where we can access all the options.
With a busy life and kids who like to stay active, having one central place to find all the resources makes perfect sense to me. I am voting yes for the Rec District in Teton County this November.”
