The LOPE Horses and Staff team would like to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Scissortail Hill Equestrian . We are so grateful for their support—and we were blown away by the enthusiasm of all of the riders for the LOPE Summer Virtual Horse Show!!! Our grand sponsor and hosts of the show, Scissortail Hill Equestrian, made these wonderful patterns come alive for our Virtual Horse Show and also opened up their own gates to competitors to haul in and video using their dressage or covered arenas. In the past, they have also supported our in-person show for over 10+ years now, and we appreciate all the hours, volunteers, and knowledge that have allowed LOPE to be what it is known today.

So many other people to thank as well! Our amazing judges Rachael Jones, Catherine Campbell, Brooke Harrington, and Marsha Lewis—who we put in such a great effort to give feedback and encouragement to all the riders. The hands-down OUTSTANDING SHE show team (Paulina, Melissa, Ann, Sophie, and many more)! Our incredible sponsors (Sam Houston Race Park, Dripping Diesel, TEVA, Horse Wise, Texas Thoroughbred Association, Retama Park, and Deb & Jim Holt’s Derby Party, to name just a few). Thank you so much again to Art of Joi for creating such gorgeous and unique artwork for our t-shirts for the LOPE show every year! She has been creating our shirts for over 10+ years, and we value her time and artistry. Her work is amazing. Joi creates beautiful handcrafted pieces of art of your pets in such unique ways!

She has also donated a certificate this year as an award given to the Best Turnout Special Award. We are so excited for the winner of said prize, and we can’t thank Joi enough for all she does in supporting our LOPE shows.

One of the best parts of the LOPE Virtual Horse Show has been watching Daelynn Jefferson take charge as Show Secretary. 🎉

If you’ve seen the class results and special awards rolling out, you’ve been seeing just one part of her work behind the scenes.

After the riders submit their videos, each entry goes to the appropriate judge for scoring and written feedback. From there, Daelynn gathers the scores from each judge, verifies the placings, calculates High Point and special awards, prepares the result announcements, organizes each rider’s score sheets and comments, and sorts all the ribbons and awards for mailing or group delivery.

It is a LOT of information—and a lot of details to get right.

Daelynn first came to LOPE as a 14-year-old intern. Ten years later, she has grown into someone we trust to take ownership of an entire show and carry it through from entries to final awards. She has handled this one with tremendous care, patience and follow-through, and we are incredibly proud of her. ❤️

Thank you, Daelynn, for all the work you have put into making this show happen—and for making sure every rider’s entry receives the attention and recognition it deserves! We are lucky to have you as our Equine Program Manager AND Show Secretary. 🐴

📣 LOPE Benefit Virtual Show 2026 — Dressage Results

We’re excited to announce our final round of results for the LOPE Benefit Virtual Show—Dressage for Classical and Western.

We’re grateful to Marsha Lewis for serving as the dressage judge for the LOPE Benefit Virtual Show and for bringing such a thoughtful, classical eye to all the rides.

Marsha Lewis is a dressage professional, educator, and USDF Bronze and Silver Medalist based in Elgin, Texas. She is the owner and head trainer of Circle 3 Dressage, where she develops horses from diverse backgrounds and empowers riders through classical, evidence‑based training. Marsha is also the founder of the Texas Heat Pony Club and serves as Youth Coordinator and previously as Chef d’Équipe for USDF Region 9’s NAYC teams, supporting youth in their competitive and educational journeys.

We sincerely appreciate her time, expertise, and supportive feedback for our riders! Riders will be receiving their paper tests along with their ribbons/awards via postal mail or in-person.

We’re excited to announce our next round of results for the LOPE Benefit Virtual Show—Obstacle for In-Hand and Mounted (Novice/Advanced).

Catherine Campbell is the owner-operator of Austin Saddle Club, teaching all-around horsemanship, runs Texas Mounted Archery and Texas Western Dressage, providing learning and competitions to various arms of our equine community. A woman of many skills, she has trained her fair share of horses, often helping rescues and troubled horses become better and more confident partners.

We are so thankful to have her supporting our events with her time and knowledge. Riders will be receiving all comments made by the judge via email.

We’ll be releasing our final class and special awards by the end of the week, so stay tuned!

Brooke Harrington has been practicing, teaching, and studying horsemanship professionally for over 20 years. She is deeply committed to working with horses in a compassionate, effective way, with an emphasis on balance, timing, and feel across disciplines.

A huge thank you to our Horsemanship judge, Brooke Harrington, for lending her thoughtful eye and deep experience to this year’s LOPE Benefit Virtual Show. Riders will be receiving all comments made by the judge via email.

🎉 We have our LOPE Summer Raffle winners! 🎉

Congratulations to Kate Asaff, winner of the two-night getaway to beautiful Taos, New Mexico! 🏡

And congratulations to Susan McMorris, winner of the Dr. Matt Evans DVM package — including his new book Chomping at the Bit, comedy show tickets, original artwork and a private comedy/inspirational speaking engagement! 📚🐴

A huge thank you to the Lubell family for generously donating the wonderful Taos house stay — and to Dr. Matt Evans for creating such a fun package for LOPE (and for taking such great care of LOPE horses over the years!).

📣LOPE Benefit Virtual Show 2026—Hunter Results

We’re excited to begin sharing results from the LOPE Benefit Virtual Show, starting with the Hunter/EQ results from the Hunter and Equitation Over Fences classes and Hunter Flat classes—Hunter Under Saddle and Equitation on the Flat.

About our judge:
Rachael Jones has over 35+ years of experience working with horses in the hunter/jumper/equitation disciplines. Growing up, she rode up and down the West Coast before moving to TX in 2005. She has experience breaking and training young horses and maintaining seasoned, been-there-done-that horses. Her teaching focuses on strong, foundational basics to move horses and riders through the hunters, equitation, and jumpers.

A thank-you again to our Hunter/EQ judge, Rachael, who did an outstanding job and provided helpful, encouraging comments for every ride. Riders will be receiving all comments made by the judge via email.
