The Drexel Elementary PTO is made up of people like YOU! Parents and Teachers and especially volunteers, are the lifeline of this organization. Any parent or teacher that is directly involved in the life of an elementary student at Drexel R-IV School can be part of this organization. Some ways you can show your support are by volunteering to help with events, attending monthly meetings, donating m
oney to help with events, or just by “liking” this page and contributing thoughts and ideas! What? The Drexel Elementary PTO has one main focus. That focus is to positively impact the lives of the students, their families and their teachers. There are several ways the PTO does this throughout the school year. Some examples include but are not limited to:
*Providing the cost of school bus transportation for field trips
*Help with planning and ex*****on of events like Grandparent’s Day and Field Day
*Providing donation for school supplies and equipment, (i.e. the new preschool playground)
*Providing financial help with teachers' classroom budget
*Showing gratitude for teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week through a daily-gift campaign
*Much, Much More! When? The Drexel Elementary PTO is most active throughout the school year. (August - May). PTO Meetings are held once a month at the Drexel School and last 45 minutes to an hour. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend meetings to provide any insight, ideas, and/or suggestions. Each PTO meeting, you get to discuss and decide fun things that can be done for the children! Where? The Drexel Elementary PTO events may be held at the school, within the community of Drexel or occasionally off-site, if it is a field trip. Why? Great question. Why was the Drexel Elementary PTO started and why are parents and teachers still involved? Simple answer: LOVE. The love you have for your child is unconditional. That love makes you do things for these little persons that you wouldn’t even do for yourself. This love drives parents to want to make their child’s elementary experience the most positive, educational and enriching experience possible. Each elementary teacher spends 8 hours a day, 5 days a week with your children. These teachers harness a love for your child too and that is what drives them to keep coming back everyday. So, the PTO was started because of and is still driven by the love we have for our children. If we can’t be with them everyday at school, we want to make sure their experience is one they’ll remember and treasure forever. Thank you for visiting our page and stop by as often as you like!
