Today’s Sankofa Kids Club workshop was called ‘Loving the Skin You Are In’. We learned about melanin and how it produces different eye, hair and skin colors in people. We also explored hair and hair textures!
Our kid participants created self portraits illustrating their unique and beautiful skin tones. Much like a fingerprint, no one skin tone is exactly the same. We also played a fun guessing game of “Guess the Hair Texture”. We learned that one head can have manyyyy different textures throughout!

We had a super day and hope everyone has a safe holiday and happy new year!

Are you excited for Back To School Night (BTSN) at Jarrettown tomorrow? ....Well you should be!😆😆
Sankofa Kids Club- Upper Dublin will be selling fresh Philly Pretzels for anyone in need of a snack/"pick-me-up" before BTSN, at 5:30pm-6pm, and again in the cafeteria, from 6:30pm-7pm.

Proceeds from our sales go towards Sankofa Kids Club Programming for the year.

MacGuffin Theatre & Film Company
https://macguffintf.com is coming back to Upper Dublin this Fall!

On Thursdays after school at Sandy Run Middle School, they will have classes for ages 7 to 14 starting September 21.

There is a production class for ages 7-10 from 4:30p to 5:30p where they will work on the musical “THE BEES,” and for ages 11 to 14, there are two classes being offered: an acting class and a comedy improv class. Jen Jaynes, former Director for the musicals at SRMS, will be leading these classes as the Associate Artistic Director of MacGuffin.
