🇺🇸✨ We had the best time celebrating Independence Day at Stadium of Fire! There’s truly nothing like gathering at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo with thousands of people to honor our country’s freedom — complete with skydivers 🪂, a stunning drone show tribute to the armed forces 🎖️, the biggest stadium fireworks show in the nation 🎆, and is broadcast to military personnel and their families around the world.

Seeing Rascal Flatts live 🎸 was a dream come true for Stacie — singing along to her favorite songs 🎶 under a sky full of fireworks made the weekend unforgettable. We felt so blessed 🙏 to be together, celebrating this beautiful land of freedom and remembering the brave men and women who make it possible.

We can’t wait for the day we get to bring our future children 👶 to experience this amazing tradition with us. After the show, we drove to Saratoga 🚗 to spend some time with Stacie’s parents — the perfect way to end a perfect Independence Day Weekend.

Here’s to the red, white, and blue! 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙 May we always remember that freedom isn’t free.

Last week we escaped into the world of the Utah Shakespeare Festival — one of our favorite summer traditions! 🎭✨ There’s just something magical about sitting under the stars, hearing timeless words brought to life on stage, and sharing it all with people we love.

This year we saw A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, Macbeth, The Importance of Being Earnest, and Antony and Cleopatra. Even better, this was our 5th year going with our amazing friends — it just keeps getting better every time! From the laughter to the gasps, the costumes to the standing ovations — we soaked up every moment together.

We were also able to spend time with our niece and her husband and our nephew and his wife, who are students at Southern Utah University — such a treat to catch up with them while we were in Cedar City!

We can’t wait to introduce our future children to the festival and keep this tradition alive for years to come. Already counting down to next year! 🫶🎟️🌟

Last week, we traded in our everyday clothes for bow ties and ballgowns at the Share Parents of Utah Fundraising Gala — a black-tie evening that was as elegant as it was emotional. ✨💙

Between the warmth of the community and the unforgettable moments, the night was truly something special. Share Parents of Utah does incredible work supporting families who have experienced the heartbreaking loss of a baby — a cause that means so much to us personally. 💫

One of the most touching parts of the evening was a wall of envelopes, each with a baby's name — a quiet and powerful tribute. Seeing Kent’s name there brought both tears and comfort. 💙👼

Of course, there was also plenty of fun to be had! There were alpacas in bow ties (yes, you read that right 🦙🎀), a DJ who had the dance floor hopping, a 360° photo booth spinning out memories, and a soda bar with all kinds of tasty drinks and sweet concoctions. 🥤✨

There was also a silent auction with all proceeds going to support the work of Share Parents of Utah — and we were thrilled to win the highest bid on a basket of baked goods from Kneaders. If we can support grieving families and go home with pastries, that’s a win-win in our book. 🥐💕

One of the most meaningful moments was having a custom portrait painted of us with our angel son, Kent — a keepsake we’ll treasure forever. 💙

It was a night full of beauty, love, laughter, remembrance, and hope — and we felt honored (and a little fancy) to be part of it. Thank you to everyone who makes this mission possible. You're helping to bring light into some of life’s darkest moments. 🤍

Today we brought flowers to the graves of 11 cherished family members: Stacie’s paternal grandparents, Aunt LouJean, Uncle Ron, Lindsy Westergard, Brian’s maternal grandparents, Brian’s paternal grandparents, his mom Phyllis, Uncle Kent, Aunt LaVern, Uncle Marvin, and our sweet son Kent.

Each visit was a quiet moment of love, remembrance, and gratitude. Though they’re no longer with us physically, their influence and spirit continue to shape our lives. We feel their love—and we carry them with us, always.

Memorial Day is a time to remember and honor those who came before us—those who shaped our families, gave us roots, and left behind legacies of love, sacrifice, and strength. It’s more than a day off—it’s a sacred opportunity to reflect, connect, and carry their memories forward.

We can’t wait to take our future children to visit these sacred places, to tell them stories of the incredible people who came before them, and to help them feel the strength of their family roots.

Happy World Penguin Day!
Today we’re celebrating some of our favorite flightless friends—the adorable, resilient, and always well-dressed penguins! 🐧❄️
From waddling on the ice to diving deep into the ocean, penguins never fail to make us smile.

We’ve loved collecting penguin memorabilia, spotting them at zoos and aquariums, and dreaming of the day we’ll see them in the wild. 🌍 One day, we’ll make that bucket list trip to meet them in their natural habitat—maybe with our future kids in tow! 🧳👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Here’s to the heroes of the ice.

Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii! 🌺🌴 We just returned from 6 magical days surrounded by breathtaking beaches, volcanic craters, and the most stunning views we’ve ever seen. 🌊✨ This trip was extra special because we were celebrating our 4th anniversary—and what a beautiful way to mark the occasion!

Our home base was the Ocean Tower at Hilton Waikaloa Resort, and it was everything we could’ve dreamed of and more! With its lush tropical gardens 🌿, incredible pools 🏖️, and views that seemed to go on forever, waking up to that stunning ocean view each morning felt like something straight out of a dream. 😍🌊 The resort was also incredibly family-friendly—we saw so many families celebrating and making memories together, and it made us all the more excited to return one day with our future children. 💕👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Oh—and it was so big, they even had a tram that carried guests from one end of the resort to the other! 🚋

To celebrate our 4th anniversary, we had an unforgettable dinner at Kamuela Provision Company, located right next to the ocean. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore added a serene touch to the evening, making it even more special. The food was delicious, and to our surprise, they brought us an amazing anniversary dessert to mark the occasion! 🍽️🎉 It was the perfect way to make the evening even more memorable. 💖

We had the opportunity to visit the Kona Hawaii Temple, which is currently undergoing renovation. While the temple was closed, we had a warm and meaningful conversation with the senior missionary couple at the temporary visitor center. It was a special and reflective moment that added to the tranquility of the day. 🕊️⛪

Later that evening, we immersed ourselves in the vibrant colors, music, and traditions of The Legend of Hawaii Luau. Surrounded by torchlight and tropical breezes, we indulged in a delicious feast and enjoyed captivating hula and storytelling that celebrated the beauty and spirit of Hawaii. 🌺🌴🥥✨

And while it was snowing back home in Utah, we were surprised to see fresh snow in Hawaii too—on the majestic peaks of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa! 🏔️❄️ There’s something pretty magical about seeing tropical flowers and snowy mountaintops all in the same day.

The following day, we embarked on The Circle Tour with Wasabi Tours Hawaii and had the absolute best time exploring the island with our incredible guide, Kona Chris (who also happens to be a fellow Utahn! 🙌). From Kona Coffee Farms ☕ to Punaluʻu Black Sand Beach 🖤, from the lush beauty of Akaka and Rainbow Falls 🌈💦 to the steam rising from Kīlauea at Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park—even though we didn’t see any actual lava erupting, the volcanic gases and steam rising from the crater were an awe-inspiring reminder of the island’s incredible energy. 🌫️🌋 We even stopped at Waipiʻo Valley Lookout and just stood there, gazing at the incredible view where lush green meets the sparkling ocean. 🌿🌊

On Easter Sunday, we had the chance to celebrate at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Waimea, which was such a special moment for us. 🙏 Afterward, we found my new favorite restaurant—The Fish and the Hog, where we enjoyed some amazing Texas-style barbecue with a Hawaiian twist! 🍖🌺

And if that wasn’t enough, we treated ourselves to some of the most delicious ice cream at Our Founding Farmers in Hawi! 🍦🤩

Mahalo, Big Island, for the memories that will last a lifetime. We’re already dreaming of our next Hawaiian adventure—and hoping to return someday with our future children to share all of this magic with them! 🌴💖

The last few weeks have been packed with stories, songs, sports, and light swords—basically all the best things!

We were deeply moved watching The Chosen Season 5 parts 1 & 2 on the big screen—it’s powerful, emotional, and beautifully done ✨. Then The Penguin Lessons had us laughing and tearing up over a sweet friendship between a teacher and a penguin 🐧. Pure magic!

We also soaked up the stage magic of The Sound of Music at Centerpoint Theater 🎶—classics never get old—and were visually stunned by the creativity and heart in Life of Pi at Eccles Theater 🐯🌊.

And to top it off? A Star Wars-themed Utah Grizzlies hockey game 🏒✨, where both of us got light swords and fully embraced our inner Jedis ⚔️. Hockey + Star Wars = an epic win.

This past weekend, we took a special trip to Cedar City to cheer on our amazing niece Samantha as she performed her Senior Recital 🎤—she’s about to graduate from Southern Utah University and we couldn’t be prouder!

We feel so lucky to share all these experiences—and we can’t wait for the day when we get to bring our future children along for the ride ❤️.

Had an amazing time visiting Jason, Annette, Ed, & Phoebe in Oklahoma! ❤️ We loved catching up, sharing laughs, and making unforgettable memories together.

One of the highlights of our trip was watching Ed's robotics team compete in the Green Country Regional competition of FIRST Robotics! 🤖🏆 It was incredible to see their teamwork and dedication in action.

We also got to take in the breathtaking views from the top of Mount Scott in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge and explore the University of Arts and Science of Oklahoma’s habitat area. 🏔️🌿🦉 The stunning scenery and learning about local wildlife made for such a unique and memorable experience!

And, of course, we couldn’t miss a stop to see the famous Chickasha Leg Lamp! 🎄💡 It was so fun to see it in person—definitely a highlight of the trip!

To top it all off, this was Stacie’s first-ever visit to Oklahoma! 🎉 Grateful for family, new adventures, and these special moments. Hopefully, before our next visit, we will be blessed to be chosen to adopt a little one. 🤞💙

Family time just got even more memorable! ✨ Tom and Karen came to visit, and we had a blast watching Star Wars: May the Farce Be With You at Desert Star Playhouse—so many laughs and Star Wars puns! 😂🌌 To top it off, we even got pulled up on stage during the olio, making it an unforgettable experience! 🎭🎤 Then we met up with my dad for a delicious dinner at Bartolo’s at Station Park. 🍝🥂

We can’t wait for the day when our future children get to experience fun weekends like this with us! ❤️👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

**"Happy Valentine’s Day to my best friend, adventure partner, and the love of my life, Stacie! ❤️ From theater nights to National Park explorations, from game nights with friends to cheering on the Utah Grizzlies—every moment with you is my favorite.

This year, our hearts are especially full as we continue our adoption journey, hoping to share all this love with a little one soon and celebrate Valentine’s as a family. I’m so grateful for the love, laughter, and memories we share, and I can’t wait for all the adventures still ahead. Love you always! ❤️🐧

❄️ Finally, Some Snow! ❄️

After waiting and waiting, we finally got some measurable snow yesterday! There’s nothing quite like the fresh, crisp air and the way everything looks so magical covered in white.

As much as we love the snow, what we’re really looking forward to is experiencing it through our future children’s eyes—watching them see snow for the first time, bundling them up in warm coats, and taking them sledding down the hills. It’s moments like these that make us even more excited for the future.

Here’s to many snowy adventures ahead! ⛄❄️
