Big Thompson Canyon Association

Big Thompson Canyon Association Community nonprofit organization. We raise funds for individuals & for other nonprofit organizations Our current building was completed in 1948.

The Big Thompson Canyon Association has been active in the canyon since the late 1930's. Over the years the BTCA has supported canyon residents in a variety of ways such as restocking the river with fish, creating residential directories, providing support during disasters such as the floods of 1976 and 2013, and donating funds to a variety of local organizations including the local volunteer fire

department and the and the Big Thompson Watershed Coalition. The major fund raising event over the past 51 years has been the annual Pancake Breakfast. Funds from the breakfast, bake sale and raffle support charity donations and maintenance of the BTCA Building. Due to Covid-19 we were unable to conduct the Pancake Breakfast this year. We purchased all the materials to replace the building roof in 2019 and had planned to recruit volunteer help in 2020 to tear off the old roof and rebuild it. We also have been unable to organize that volunteer effort. We are hoping to raise the funds to pay a contractor to do the work on the roof before it causes damage to the building. If you would like to help us you can donate on-line by clicking on the link below the photo. Donations can also be mailed to the BTCA at PO Box 163, Drake, CO 80515: just put roof fund in the memo field on a check.

Update:
Hannah responded, but I'm waiting on a response about a drop off location. Here's her reply:

Hey! So I spoke to the owners and they are really in need of kitchen items (pots, pans, silverware, etc) but the other items they’ve already replaced. You guys are amazing. We are so sad to be leaving nugget springs, 2 weeks after moving here. We are so blessed to have sold to this family. They bought it with their insurance money. Wonderful family.

Original post:
The Lane family who live at "Nugget Springs" in the Big Thompson Canyon (across from the Cherry Cider Store) posted the following on the "Dam to Dam" page.:

We are moving and there’s a new family moving into our home. They recently lost everything they own in the Aspen fire. They have a 2 year old girl/ they own no toys or furniture. If anyone has anything they’re looking to donate/ get rid of. I know they would greatly appreciate!

Our new front door has been installed thanks to Mark Svoboda, Sr. and Britt Reed. Great job guys!

What a busy, yet fun day for the 56th annual pancake breakfast fundraiser last Sunday. So many amazing volunteers! It was so busy that I had to ask members for pictures this year since I only took one.😱
We had people from surrounding communities and many from out of state that were visiting the area. Thanks to everyone who made this fundraiser go off without a hitch.
Our door prize winner for the "Heaven's Choice Popcorn" basket was Amy Stoddard! Congratulations, Amy.
We hope everyone had a good time at the breakfast, craft fair, bake sale and fire station visiting with the volunteer firefighters. See you next year on Sunday,
June 6, 2027. 🥞🥓🥚😋😁
