Thank you to Joseph Khan, William Goldman, Elizabeth Oquendo, and Brendan Flynn for presenting Civil Litigation & Criminal Law Sections CLE # 2661 "Building a 21st Century DA's Office".

Since taking office in January, District Attorney Joe Khan has worked to build a DA's office to address the challenges of the 21st century. From expanding and empowering a Special Investigations Unit focused on public corruption to standing up a brand-new Civil Enforcement Unit to secure justice for consumers, workers, and the environment, DA Khan is using all the tools in the toolbox to protect Bucks County.

Nominations are being accepted for all of the BCBA’s and BCBF’s Annual Awards. To submit a BCBA member (or community member in the case of the William H. Eastburn, III Award and Foundation Award), simply submit a short write-up outlining your nomination no later than November 6, 2026. [Email – [email protected] or Mail – 135 E. There are five annual awards:

The Mark E. Goldberg Award
The William H. Eastburn, III Award
The Arthur B. Walsh, Jr. Pro Bono Publico Award

Every year, the Bucks County Bar Association members do tremendous work for the benefit of the public. Lawyers who serve those in need without charge should be celebrated. By generously donating your time and talent, you change lives.

Once again, we want to recognize our members for outstanding service to the community and celebrate the collective good our profession performs. Our request: email [email protected] with your name, the pro bono service performed, and the number of pro bono hours served between September 1, 2025, and August 31, 2026 (a best estimate will suffice if specific hours are unavailable.) Please do so by end of day on Monday, October 12 so that we can properly honor your service.

Members who report their voluntary service will be recognized during our annual (and complimentary) Pro Bono CLE and Awards Ceremony taking place on Thursday, October 22nd at 3:00 pm at the BCBA building and will be included in the Association’s Annual Report in December. The BCBA and BCBF will host a reception immediately following the CLE and Awards Ceremony to celebrate anyone who has done Pro Bono Service.

If you are interested in becoming more involved in Pro Bono service, please consider getting involved in the BCBA-supported programs, such as Protection from Abuse representation, the Mortgage Conciliation Program, the Landlord Tenant Program, and the Veterans Treatment Program, or one of the many programs at Legal Aid of Southeastern PA.
