Today we focus on the solar eclipse. What a lot of hoopla over such a quick event! But, isn't it fun to engage with hoopla sometimes? A national or local "hoopla" event can create a sense of bonding and community, and shift thinking from "me" to "we," perhaps helping to get ourselves out of our own, sometimes troubled, head space and connect with others. So, today enjoy the hoopla! Let yourself have fun with it! (But protect your eyes!)

June is National Pride month! As a therapist, I have worked with many LGBTQIA+ youth, adults, and their families. I celebrated with gay Americans their victorious right to marry in 2015 and stand as a firm ally. Sadly, LGBTQIA youth are 4x more likely to attempt su***de than their peers.
