2,295 bags of food packed to support a local Phoenix food bank, in honor of SGT Elijah Wong, Army National Guard. 🇺🇸

From mac & cheese to sardines, these bags are heading out across a massive 19,000-square-mile service area stretching all the way to the New Mexico border.

This incredible effort was made possible by the dedicated leadership of TMF's Phoenix Chapter, including Veteran Mentors Mike Montiel and Sherman Chao, alongside TMF volunteer Lonnie Martin.

We teamed up with United Food Bank, American Legion Riders, Toyota USA, and Bank of America to make this project possible for local families. We are proud to see our Spartans keeping Elijah’s legacy alive through service to others.

Today, we honor the 13 U.S. service members who lost their lives in the tragic Kabul airport attack on August 26, 2021.

These brave individuals were stationed at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, during the final days of the U.S. military withdrawal. As they diligently worked to evacuate civilians amidst the tense and perilous circumstances, a devastating su***de bombing claimed their lives.

Their unwavering courage and selflessness serve as a poignant reminder of the countless heroes who rise to the occasion without hesitation, risking their lives to safeguard our freedom.

Today, we honor the memory and legacy of Staff Sgt. Damion G. Campbell, Army, who made the ultimate sacrifice on August 26, 2005, during Operation Enduring Freedom. 🇺🇸

Born in Jamaica and raised in Baltimore, Damion was a natural leader from his early days in the Boy Scouts and Forest Park High School JROTC. Described by loved ones as outgoing, fun-loving, and fiercely competitive, he excelled in everything he did while serving with the 1st Battalion, 508th Infantry Regiment. The Army was his passion. It was all he wanted to do.

His mother, Donna Robinson, chose to transform her grief into a powerful force for good by dedicating herself to carrying his legacy forward through TMF. Today, she serves as a vital pillar of the TMF Mid-Atlantic Region, honoring Damion’s memory as both a Character Does Matter (CDM) Mentor and a TMF volunteer. By stepping into these roles, she actively instills the values of leadership, integrity, and service in the next generation, ensuring that the passion, joy, and competitive spirit Damion lived by continues to inspire communities today.

There’s a restaurant in Lower Manhattan that holds a piece of 9/11 history within its walls.

Just steps from the 9/11 Memorial, O’Hara’s Restaurant & Pub has become a living memorial to the first responders, recovery workers, and communities impacted by September 11.

After suffering significant damage on 9/11, O’Hara’s reopened and became a gathering place for first responders and those working to rebuild Lower Manhattan. Today, its walls are covered with thousands of patches and insignias from fire, police, EMS and military departments around the world.

Last weekend, TMF’s NYC Chapter had the opportunity to tour the 9/11 Museum and reflect on the stories and people whose legacies continue to shape the memory of 9/11. As part of TMF's Character Does Matter (CDM) event, volunteers also spent time at O’Hara’s writing heartfelt messages of encouragement and support to families visiting the museum on the 25th anniversary of 9/11, creating a meaningful way to honor those who were lost and those who continue to carry their memories forward.
