Established Family Recovery Ministries will fill a ministry gap for partners, parents, and children left behind at home, when the man of the home enters Bethel Colony of Mercy, or another residential Christian treatment facility. A wider range of mentorship, resource, and support services are available to the general public when family members are navigating a close relationship with someone addic
ted. Needs will be met by providing free holistic care and mentorship to women and children through financial assistance, practical needs such as babysitting, house-cleaning, or job placement resources, daily needs such as grocery or gasoline cards, spiritual and mental support such as Christian counseling or child-play therapy referrals, and mentorship for their own individual recoveries through guidance in dietary, mental health, and behavioral practices within the home. Recovery in the women and children left behind at home factors into family recovery as a whole by increasing the chances the man can stay in recovery himself, upon returning home from treatment. Because the entire family unit will be in recovery from anger, unforgiveness, trauma, toxic behavioral patterns, financial devastation, and codependency, each member can play their part in being the solution to the destructive patterns they've allowed in the past. These common threads in a home where addiction is present in a member will be decreased or eliminated in an effort to provide the best environment for all family members to establish, maintain, and achieve sobriety, recovery, and healing - by the grace of God.
