Giving back dignity!
A heartfelt thank you to Life is a Donation for their generous gift of 1,000 pairs of underwear for the women we serve at Created.
With four safe houses and 30–40 women visiting our drop-in center each day, practical items like underwear are always needed. But this donation represents so much more than meeting a basic need.
A few years ago, I was speaking with a woman at our drop-in center and asked how she was doing. Her response was simple:
"I have underwear."
As we continued talking, she repeated those words several times. Eventually, she explained that while she was being trafficked, she was not allowed to wear underwear. Something most of us take for granted had been taken from her as a means of control and humiliation.
That conversation has stayed with me.
For survivors of trafficking, underwear is more than clothing. It can represent privacy, dignity, choice, safety, and the restoration of personal freedom.
That's why this donation means so much. Every pair is a tangible reminder that the women we serve are valued, respected, and worthy of care.
Thank you, Life is a Donation , for helping restore dignity one woman at a time.
