We believe that no young person should have to grow-up without a father and carry the burden of his absence alone. That's why ReWritten exist.

Fatherlessness creates a hole in the hearts of young men and women, one that they are desperate to fill. Without proper emotional support and guidance they are likely to fill that void with self-destructive behaviors paving the way for a future filled with pain and suffering. We want to help stop this. At ReWritten, we work to equip fatherless and underserved youth with the tools needed to become thriving adults by offering personalized programming. We believe that when you provide a holistic, Christ-centered network of support around young men and women hoping for a better life, it will help shift the trajectory of their future towards one filled with unlimited potential for good. ReWritten is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization formed in 2013 as a direct response to the number of young people growing up in a largely fatherless community. We identify youths who are going to have a turbulent transition into adulthood and offer a positive support system that enables them to avoid pitfalls that can derail their lives. The focus is slightly different at each level but the goal remains the same: empower the participant to make positive changes in their life. Statement of Faith:
We are Christian. Our Christian faith is at the core of who we are. We believe in one God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe together, Jesus lived, died and rose again. Our desire is for Him to be central in our individual and corporate life. We hear His call to servanthood and commit ourselves to a servant spirit that permeates throughout ReWritten. We aim to follow Him in His compassion for the poor, oppressed, marginalized and fatherless. It is from His example we derive our holistic approach to loving and caring for the fatherless and underserved.We believe God designed all children, boy and girl to be loved by a mother and a father. Thus, we follow the example of Jesus by being a visible, tangible expression of the fatherhood of God, serving all children in need from any faith or no faith at all. We believe that no child, teen or young adult who walks through our doors is too hopeless because our hope is in Jesus.

This past August, we launched a new Instagram account for young people carrying the weight of fatherlessness. Whether a father walked away or death took him too soon, the ache is real, and many young people are turning to social media to find a way to cope.

ReWritten has always shown up for our participants: at parent-teacher conferences, award assemblies, sports games, and out in the community. Along the way, we meet more young people carrying the same weight. Now the online world is where many of them have set up camp. The internet isn’t going anywhere, and we can’t ignore it. So we’re going into its dark, lonely corners to find them and bring them help and hope.

Each post is a few honest words of encouragement, rooted in Scripture, that a hurting teenager can read in seconds and carry with them all day. We don’t have every answer. But we know Someone who does, and bringing the good news of Jesus and the Fatherhood of God into desolate places is nothing new for us.

You’ve followed us. You’ve prayed for these kids. Most of you have never been in the room.

Fifteen years ago we made one promise: no kid carries the burden of fatherlessness alone. Not because we’re enough, but because we know someone who is. God calls Himself a father to the fatherless, and everything we do is to point the young people we serve to Him.

Too often, this is the reality of the young people we serve. Working so hard to disappear because everything they know has taught them to leave, to hide, to not exist. The disappearing children fathers leave behind are all around us. Boys and girls in our classrooms, parks, and churches, learning to vanish in the shadow of their father’s absence.

Transformation rarely happens in one extraordinary moment. More often, it unfolds through hundreds of ordinary ones.

Looking back on this spring, we’ve celebrated graduations, spiritual breakthroughs, a participant wedding, first family memories at Disneyland, and watched people from across the country lace up for Race for ReWritten.

Every milestone pointed to the same truth: lives are changed through consistent relationships. Behind every graduation, every smile, and every photo is a committed mentor building trust, one prayer, one encouraging Scripture, and one faithful mentoring session at a time.

This is the quiet work of restoration. It doesn’t happen overnight, but season after season, we see what faithful relationships can become.

Thank you to everyone who continues walking alongside the young people and families we serve.

None of this happens alone. It was never meant to.

We have loved seeing the photos and videos you’ve shared. The smiles, the miles, and the stories behind them have been inspiring. These are just some of the beautiful faces behind every mile, and we’re excited to share them with our ReWritten participants and team. It’s one of our favorite traditions and always a meaningful reminder of the community behind this mission. A community spread all across the country, from Pennsylvania to Hawaii and right here in San Bernardino, California. You showed up.
