Last Sunday we were so honored to have members of the Community Self Defense Coalition and Union Del Barrio come by share about their work.

They are on the front lines in protecting us and our neighbors from the forces of ICE and DHS.

Direct, lived experience is so valuable when we come together to organize.

Going forward, Food Not Bombs will be doing our part to bring together all of the groups around Los Angeles doing important mutual aid and direct action work!

After a plea for more volunteers, we were graced by so many new folks interested!

The one thing that all of our predecessors have talked about in a fight against the forces of fascism, is to organize, organize, organize!

All of us must come together and work towards the changes we want to see in the world!

We can no longer just live our lives wishing things were different!

Plus, just chopping veggies with like minded folk is just plain fun!

A journey of packing the meals to distro!

We’ve had a bit of a shortage of volunteers most likely due to everyone being busy during the holidays (hopefully!) but we are still getting it done!

Still serving LOTS of hot meals to the hungry people of LA!

Come hang out with us in the new year, we cook and serve every Sunday!

We had so much fun at the Mutual Aid Fair!

It was beautiful to see the passion of so many people in so many different direct action mutual aid organizations in Los Angeles.

We felt very proud to let everyone taste our form of caring for the community, with an insanely delicious menu!

It’s actually pretty witchy and magical to rescue food that would otherwise be wasted, to create something so scrumptious that provides energy for hungry people to get them through their day!!

This weekend we went out in the middle of an extremely rainy day in Los Angeles!

We served 150-200 warm meals for people trying to survive in a neighborhood that shouldn’t really exist in the “richest country in the world”.

Whatever social contract we have as a country has been broken for a long time now. Still, we try our best to give our support to those who need it.
