It was like 80 degrees out today, so we totally had iced water and popsicles. Also on the menu was barbecue tofu, crescent rolls, corn and guac with chips, our big salad, apples, and an assortment of other fruit! Tryna keep everyone refreshed and hydrated! đŸ„”
As always, all homemade stuff, with the exception of the fruit, which we did not grow ourselves.

We had a buncha new volunteers/future friends/co-conspirators today, too, which is always so nice. This whole social media thing feels kinda silly sometimes, but I guess it helps and keeps us connecting with others, which is a net positive.

Like we keep getting invited to table at punk shows! Last night, a metal show gave us half their door money, amounting to over a hundred bucks. Please keep having us, we all love punk, and the DIY venues and promoters here in LA are just as valuable to our community as we are. 🙏

Yesterday was so much fun at the tenth annual Anarchist Book Fair! We held down a table from open to close and were able to feed, chat, and connect with so many people. Super grateful to have this event every year where these radical concepts and ideas and move-makers are brought together in one place. We felt inspired and rejuvenated and we hope y’all did, too!

We started the day off light with a vegan ceviche, fruit, blackberry scones, and chocolate banana muffins, and then upped the ante around lunch time with three bags full of sandwiches—peanut butter and blackberry jam; deli and cheese using Tofurky, Chao, mayo, sriracha, and romaine; and hummus veggie with cucumber, romaine, red onion, mixed bell peppers, and alfalfa sprouts. We also had a pot of potato salad, a big bowl of actual salad with optional vegan feta crumbles, and chocolate chip cookies. We kept everyone hydrated with bottled water and black tea (iced or hot). A nice person dropped off two thermoses of this deliciously smoky lapsang souchong tea. As we started running outta food, we improvised some Tofurky, cheese, and bell pepper hors d’oeuvres. Everything was vegan, of course, and nearly everything homemade from scratch!

We were outside under our little awning and the wind got crazy a handful of times. There were moments where we thought it would float away into the sky, and we lost food and zines a couple times. 😅
But as always, we prevailed against all obstacles, surprises, and inconveniences.

Thanks again to anyone who stopped by for a snack and chat, helped catch something of ours that flew away, donated a buck, or bought a shirt. Our hearts are so full! 🏮💖

Hope to see some of you next weekend at our benefit gig! Tickets in bio! ✌

It was gloomy, but we made cool, light food again. Every weekend is a practice in cooking improv based on the food we are donated and what some of us chip in ourselves. With the help of some new volunteers (dare I say—friends?), we got a lot done in the modest kitchen we were working with, and ended up serving several different versions of salad: potato salad (dill pickles to make up for lack of fresh dill), salad salad (romaine, red onion, cucumber, scratch-made vinaigrette), and fruit salad (mango, papaya, and melon). At serve, we also had some sourdough bread dropped off, and a buncha free clothes to give out.

Then a few of us headed over to spend the rest of the day at the Anarchist Book Fair! We’ll be back tomorrow, too, serving up a buncha sandwiches, potato salad (with dill), fruit, and other snacks throughout the day. We’ll be right out front, so stop, say hey, and grab a bite before heading in for books, zines, and workshops. We are so lucky to have this event in LA.

Hey, you! Today’s serve was a stew with TVP, broccoli, beans, and cilantro, a lentil soup, a big salad with strawberries, handfuls of peaches, pears, and bananas, some loaves of sourdough bread (including a yummy garlic bread), muffins, water, and some ponchos for the potential rain. Free for all, as everything always should be. 🏮

A cute lil pup named Churro joined us to help serve.

You probably would love to come eat some of our delicious food, or help serve it, I bet! Well, you can! We’re here every Saturday at 12:30 in Skid Row’s Gladys Park. Always looking for new faces and hands to help with prep and/or serve, or just hungry mouths.

Our fundraising efforts are still ongoing, too, raising funds to keep us running smoothly through the rest of 2026, so if you have the means, please send some funds to our Venmo @ foodnotbombs-dtla! đŸ„ș

I think we were able to hook someone up with a nice pair of running shoes, too.

Someone requested we pour our Tapatio hot sauce into a water bottle for them. We aim to please, so we obliged. Also a new volunteer just did their second serve with us and we’re all stoked on him. Maybe you’ll be next?! đŸ„ș
