Exciting news for our Little Library- just 3 blocks away you'll find...drumroll, please.... a BOOKSTORE!!!!

Support small business in your neighborhood: grab a book at Niche Books and perhaps a cup of coffee (may I recommend the mocha made with strawberry milk next door at Tapestry Coffee ?)

When you're through with your read, well, you know where to bring it :)

This is a Young Adult book that I'm reading right now, and it is lovely. Has anyone else read it?
I am toying with the idea of creating one of the trees next to the Little Library into a Wishing Tree this May...

Seven years ago, Michael's Mom, Marti, passed away unexpectedly. November 5th will always be heavy for us. We miss her joy, bubbling laughter, fierce devotion to her family, and big hugs. How grateful we are to be able to pass along her love of reading to our community. Thank you for being a part of her legacy.

It's not just Halloween that has scary things.

There's a lot happening in our country, state, city, and our own neighborhoods that are, well, scary. It hurts our hearts to see friends and families divided, relationships broken. We lost our stamina to put construction paper hearts in their windows, sing on sidewalks, applaud teachers and healthcare workers. We are all exhausted and hurting.

At Marti's Sunflower Books, we are a safe place for ALL. We are grateful to be centrally located on a busy street so that we can bring community together over the beautiful gift of reading. Books fit in the cracks of places that are broken; they reach the hurting hearts of people on opposite sides of issues.

Please stop by and take a book, knowing that you are reading the same pages, or looking at the same pictures, as your neighbor, no matter what you agree on.

Now that's a page we can get on.

Good morning, morning glories!

We had a surprise blessing the other day when we discovered a monetary donation was placed in our Little Library. And while we absolutely never expect such a gift, we wanted to reach out in case our mystery donor was on this page. Thank you, anonymous supporter, for this beautiful gesture, we were truly touched.

Happy Reading!

We are grateful to be located central to our greater Lakeville neighborhood. Building community and inclusion is something we are passionate about, and one of our favorite things about our Little Library is how many people we get to meet. Stop by and say hello, all are welcome!

TGIF from Marti's Sunflower Books! Our inventory is always changing, and even though it's right outside our door, Im always happily surprised when I open those little doors. Here is a small bit of what I found today. It ranges from kid's board books, activity books, young adult series, self-help, horror, suspense, faith, romance, beach reads, and cookbooks.
What books do you like to read?

Welcome to Marti's Sunflower Books! We are a registered Free Little Library located on main Street (Holyoke Ave) in downtown Lakeville, MN 2 blocks north of Babe's.

Marti's Sunflower Books was established in 2020 in memory of Marti Childe, the beloved wife, mother and grandmother of its architects. Marti passed away in 2014. She is deeply missed and we are honored to share her love of books with our community. Birds and sunflowers make us think of her, so you will see both of these things incorporated throughout the library.

We have books in all genres for all ages. You may choose to return them when you're finished, but it's not required. We do gratefully accept donated books, but ask that large quantities be left on our doorstep so that we can fit them in with some semblance of organization :)

We always have changing inventory, so please stop by often, and help yourself to a bookmark too.

Happy reading!
