Yesterday, we had the privilege of serving as a resource at the Lone Star High School career fair. Our volunteers walked alongside students, helping them engage with booths, ask thoughtful questions, and step outside their comfort zones.

It was powerful to see so many community partners united around one purpose — investing in the next generation and reminding them that their future matters. This is why we do what we do — building lasting relationships and showing up consistently for the young men and women in our community.

We’re so grateful for our volunteers — we truly couldn’t do this without you. Because of the intentional conversations and genuine presence you brought, 58 students chose to sign up to stay connected, inviting us to continue walking alongside them and supporting them right where they are.

Really late post, but these ladies deserve all the recognition. The core of our program has always been mentorship and education for the young women who remain part of the community. To fill the gap, our founder wished someone had taught her in her early 20s.

In October 2023, we identified five young women who continued to show grit and began a three-year pilot to launch the first official young executive bootcamp.

They were matched with a mentor, and we walked alongside them as they chose a vocational trade that took them just one step closer to their big dream in 2025. Next, they began working towards additional goals, such as their own places, reliable transportation, adjusting to continue aligning with growth, and now have access to private mental, physical, financial, and spiritual coaching.

So even after 2025, our most challenging year as a ministry, these three stayed the course, even after some mentors quit and the center was closed, but the bond we all built is for a lifetime.

So last month we celebrated! We enjoyed bibles and breakfast, cocktails and christmas lights, putput with Grace, and museum tours around St Augustine.

Ladies, we are in the final year of this pilot, and it is undeniable that God is working in all of you and through you to lay the foundation for a program that will truly impact your peers and is just the beginning for the brightness of your future. We are so proud of you, and it is time to dig in, be disciplined, strengthen your resilience, and root your identity.

Open conversation with the ladies today at River City Science Academy about what they would change in society, struggles with the sexualization of all their music and movies, questions about division, and fears around different topics.

This next generation truly would change everything if we empowered and equipped them!

Late post! We fixed some lights at the 2nd Annual Deck the Chairs exhibit, created by our amazing students in the Girls of Virtue and Men of Vision high school outreach. Then we joined some of our young executives and core volunteers to explore the zoo: magical lanterns, the eyes of a child and the warmth of making smores by a fire.

What a blessing to bring together five years of collaboration and empowerment of the young women and now the men of the community. Together we can make a difference.

What do we do at Girls of Virtue? We love the young people of our city. We make sure they are seen, heard, cared for and safe. We give them space to fall down and be picked back up. We love them through their failures because the Lord has loved us through ours!
