Our Back-to-School Huddle focused on equipping our boys with something just as important as pencils and notebooks: the confidence to advocate for themselves, communicate with confidence and take ownership of their education. Hearing directly from two of our mentors who are teachers gave our boys practical tools they can use starting on day one.

We are also grateful to the Care Pantry and other LPFLA supporters who helped provide school supplies and hygiene products, ensuring our families start the year with dignity and confidence.

Every wave brought a new challenge.

Every challenge brought an opportunity to grow.

At LPFLA's annual surf camp, our mentees learned more than how to surf. They learned resilience, patience, and perseverance. They learned that setbacks are temporary and that growth happens when you keep showing up, even after you fall.

The ocean tested them. They responded with courage. That's the kind of leadership we're building.

We often say we are preparing boys for manhood and leadership.

One way we do that is by creating opportunities for them to lead now.
Our Mentee Signing Day Planning Committee helped shape this year's event by participating in meetings, sharing ideas, communicating with vendors, and working together to ensure the day was a success. Through this process, they weren't just planning an event, they were developing the confidence and skill set needed to excel in school, careers, and their communities.

We're grateful for each young man who accepted the challenge to serve and lead.

We understand that today's committee members are tomorrow's community leaders. We build a boy, who builds a family, which builds the community.

For many of the boys we serve, LPFLA is more than a program.

It's a place to grow. A place to belong. A place to be challenged, encouraged, and supported by mentors, peers and a community who want to see them succeed.

Every photo from Signing Day tells a story.

A story of a young man who is choosing growth. A story of a mentor who chose to show up. A story of a mother who believes in her son's future. A story of a community that refuses to let boys navigate life without the support they deserve.

For many of the young men we serve, having consistent guidance, support, and exposure to new opportunities can change the trajectory of their lives.

Signing Day was a reminder that when a young man makes a commitment to the LPFLA process the village rises to support him.
