Huntsville Elks Lodge No.1648 Alabama CITIZEN OF THE YEAR 2025-2026, Elks Member, Mayor of the City of Huntsville, Tommy Battle! Mayor Battle has been elected to five terms as mayor of what is now the largest and most prolific city in Alabama. He’s been a wonderful leader that listens to it’s citizens as Huntsville’s meteoric rise in the Southern United States.

As a longtime member of Huntsville Elks Lodge, you will find him in the lodge dining with friends and especially during college football in the fall.

Congratulations to Mayor Battle!

Huntsville Elks Lodge No.1648 Alabama ELK OF THE YEAR 2025-2026, Todd Lester! The officers of your lodge voted unanimously that Todd Lester has been that quiet guy behind whipping the patio into the great place to hang out especially on Friday nights. And while everyone is having fun on Friday nights and during Sunday Brunch, Todd is working in the kitchen.

Todd’s contributions go above and beyond, he’s a diligent Elks member, a diligent House Committee Member and of course a Trustee on your Board of Directors.

Thank Todd and congratulate him when you see him at the lodge and if you can’t find him he may be working in the kitchen!

KEEP IN YOUR THOUGHTS… longtime Elks Member, Gwenda Hall gave us all a scare yesterday. She was transported from our lodge to Huntsville Emergency Room with ER, Stephen Grimes by her side until late last evening.

GOOD NEWS: she had a procedure early this morning and she’s already been released to go home late this afternoon.

SHE IS on Facebook and we’ve linked her page above, we encourage you to reach out through Facebook and wish her well as she convalesces as we all look forward to her return to our lodge soon!

Elks, while enjoying a day or night at the lodge…let’s all do our part and remember to return all drink glasses to the bar! The dining area, high top tables and patio tables are often left with numerous empty glasses in the evenings. So someone else has to take them to the bar for you or the bartenders will have to leave the bar to retrieve them. This leaves the bar unattended and slows down their service to others.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
