My journey began back in 2000 when I got diagnosed. I had the first surgery in 2007 and one almost every year ever since 2007. I just could not find pictures of early surgeries!

Estenosis Acueductal - Diagnóstico por Tomografía

P: ¿Cuál es el hallazgo principal?
A: hidrocefalia obstructiva no comunicante. Dilatación marcada de los ventrículos laterales, tercer ventrículo y porción superior del acueducto de Silvio.

P: ¿Cuál es el diagnóstico y cuáles son las causas de esta condición?
R: La estenosis acueductal puede ser congénita o adquirida (masa / tumor tectal o hemorragia / ventriculitis subaracnoidea).

P: ¿Qué características indican que la hidrocefalia es de larga data?
R: La dilatación marcada de los ventrículos solo es posible durante un período prolongado, como es el caso de la fenestración del septum pellucidum.

Aqueductal Stenosis - Diagnosed vía CT Scan

Q: What is the main finding?
A: Non-communicating obstructive hydrocephalus. Marked dilatation of the lateral ventricles, third ventricle and superior portion of the aqueduct of Sylvius.

Q: What is the diagnosis and what are the causes of this condition?
A: Aqueductal stenosis can be either congenital or acquired (tectal mass / tumour or subarachnoid haemorrhage / ventriculitis).

Q: What features indicate that hydrocephalus is long standing?
A: Marked dilatation of the ventricles is only possible over a lengthy period, as is the case for fenestration of the septum pellucidum.
