Today, we celebrate the incredible impact of our fellow nonprofits and their unwavering commitment to making the world a better place. 🌍💙

At Shelter in the Storm, our mission is to help the teens in the Green Bay area lead safe, healthy, productive lives by giving them the tools they need to accomplish this and help them reach their goals.

As a way to celebrate National Nonprofit Day, join us by donating, volunteering, or simply raising awareness, for the causes that you are passionate about. 💌

40% of young people report feeling lonely at least some of the time. According to the BBC Loneliness Experiment, which surveyed 55,000 people, showed that young people ages 16–24-year-olds feel lonelier than any other age group.

Providing safe, welcoming spaces for teens to access after school is key to helping them feel included, connected, and cared for.

“From a community perspective…we lack affordable tutoring services for our students. I am often asked by building administrators if I know of any individual tutors or free tutoring services, and there are not many options in our community for someone to sit alongside a student to support them in the coursework.” ~Amy Fish, Green Bay School District.

We are ready to step up to fill the need for tutoring service for Green Bay students!! 💪

In the 2023-2023 school year we aim to reach 20% of the low income students at Green Bay Southwest High School and Green Bay East High School. This means we aim to reach at least 140 students throughout the year.

Our upcoming Gaming for Good gaming fundraiser on Friday, August 18 will provide the opportunity to dive into the two different worlds for a charitable cause! 🎮 🌐

1️⃣ After The Fall: Set in an alternate 1980s LA, team up with friends and shoot your way through the frozen wasteland overrun by mutated hordes.

2️⃣ Loco Dojo. Take turns to spin the wheel of a central board game and launch one of sixteen marvelously mad minigames in which to compete with your rivals for Grand Sensei’s favor. (It’s like Mario Party in VR!)
