Colorado Pet Pantry

There were some exceptionally cute faces at the end of this week during our Thursday pantry in Boulder and Friday pantry in Montrose. We are so lucky to have such darling clientele!

COMMUNITY IN ACTION | Today, our network of partnerships illustrated how when we work together, great things can happen!

First, our fabulous volunteers went to Chow Down Pet Supplies Inc. Montrose for a donation pick up. Thank you to KJ at Chow Down for assisting us in loading harnesses, leashes, pet food, and ... a stroller.

These essential donations made their way to our open-to-the-public pet food pantry at Sharing Ministries, Inc., held on the Friday before the 4th Saturday of each month. A sweet dog named Chiquita Banana (LOVE THIS NAME), and her loving human were waiting for this specialized piece of equipment. Thanks to this stroller donation, this sweet pup has been liberated to enjoy her golden years in the fresh air with her family.
❤❤❤
This is what it's all about!

We typically like to keep it light with pictures of smiling dogs and cats receiving pet food at our pantries. Stories of success and surrender prevention are a lot easier to digest than the hard truth about what is happening out there.

But the rising cost of living is putting a massive strain on pet owners. Shelters are seeing a record increase in surrenders, and people are being forced to relinquish their pets as their financial viability is pushed to the brink.

We are here to help. We are honored to play a part in the preservation of family bonds, and we are grateful to have a community of support as we march through these hard times. Every pet fed and family supported is in part thanks to the strong relationships we have with our human food pantry and animal welfare partners.

Colorado shelters and pet assistance groups say the growing cost of living is forcing more families to make painful decisions about their animals.

Are you Team Dog or Team Cat?

Join us TOMORROW, Friday, October 23, from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Living The Dream Brewing Co. in Highlands Ranch for their Dogs vs Cats! b**r launch.

Try the competing brews: “PET ALL THE DOGS” (Hazy Pale Ale) vs. “CAT DAD” (West Coast Pale Ale). Cast your ballot at the brewery to crown the winner.

Best of all, $1 for every b**r sold goes back to Colorado Pet Pantry. We’re also excited to help Living The Dream kick off their pet food drive—we will be accepting donations of pet food and accessories on-site.

So, start your Friday with a pint, vote for your favorite, and support Colorado pets in need!

One of our contestants in the Denver Nook Costume Contest has gone viral!

Ms. Dolly Pawton, who happens to be the front-runner, had an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction, resulting in a hilarious reel (linked below - hide your eyes!) captured by our incredible Colorado Pet Pantry Ambassador, Katy.

It was BUSY at our Greeley pantry today as we distributed almost 4,000(!!!) pounds of dry food and 1,000 cans of wet food to support 429 pets in this area.

We host this pet food pantry in partnership with Weld Food Bank and the assistance is greatly appreciated by all who come.

This is Beretta, she is two years old, and her pet parent says that being able to utilize our services has eased his mind, knowing that there is support for his very important furry family member. 🐾❤

Welcome to Wild Birds Unlimited in Colorado Springs to our donation store network!

Several vet clinics, pet supply stores, and now wild bird supply stores accept donations on our behalf. Our dedicated volunteers assist in bringing these donations to our respective warehouses.

This is community in action, and each store in our network makes a big difference in how many people and pets we can serve.

Thank you Wild Birds Unlimited! Welcome to the family!
