Happy Pinewood Derby day! It was cold outside, but things were red hot for our Pinewood Derby! We had a great turnout and a lot of fun. We had a great combined den meeting this past Monday, culminating in an energetic game of “Red Light Green Light!”

Cub Scout Graduation!

WHEN: Sunday, July 24, 1:00pm

WHERE: Downs United Methodist Church

WHO: All scouts are welcome and encouraged to come and attend, as well as family and friends.

WEAR: Class A uniforms for Tigers through AOLs. Class B scout shirts for Lions. Leaders please wear leadership uniforms.

During the scout graduation ceremony scouts will advance to the next rank in preparation for the coming year! Scouts and leaders will be recognized, and each scout will receive a new neckerchief and clasp for their new rank. Snacks and drinks to be served at a short reception following graduation.

Downs 4th of July Parade

WHEN: Line-up is at 11:30am on Monday, July 4, 2022. Parade begins at noon.

WHERE: Meet in the TV High School parking lot and search for the Cub Scout trailer/float within the parade line-up. Post-parade pick-up will also be in the TV High School parking lot.

WHO: All scouts are welcome and encouraged to come and participate in the parade. Family and friends may watch the parade anywhere along the route.

WEAR: Class A uniforms for Tigers through AOLs. Class B scout shirts for Lions. Leaders please wear leadership uniforms.

Scouts will be dropped off and picked up in the High School parking lot, but parade attendees must park at others areas in town or at the Jr High parking lot. Scouts may bring candy to throw during the parade and will be required to stay on the trailer for the duration of the parade unless they are flag carriers.

Spring Campout
Unfortunately, the forecast is calling for 90% chance of rain and thunderstorms on Saturday, so we have made the decision to change the date (and location due to availability) of the campout. Please see updated information below.

WHEN: Saturday and Sunday, May 14-15 (typically the campout starts at 2:00pm on Saturday, and ends around 10:00am on Sunday).

WHERE: Moraine View State Recreation Area Group Camp, 27374 E 900 North Rd, LeRoy, IL 61752

WHO: All scouts are welcome and encouraged to come and participate. At least one parent or guardian must attend with the scout. Additional family members may also attend.

Please sign up using the Band app if you plan to attend.

WEAR: Bring Class A uniforms for Tigers through AOLs and Class B scout shirts for everyone. Leaders please bring leadership uniforms. Otherwise, bring comfortable camping clothes.

COST: Cost for the scout and one parent/guardian is covered, but anyone else accompanying the scout will be charged a fee ($12) to cover the camp and pack-contributed food. If this presents a financial hardship for any family, please contact your den leader or the scoutmaster.

Please return a copy of the completed health form (linked below) before or upon arriving at the campout. This is a requirement of Cub Scouts.

Past campout activities have included hiking, fishing, crafts, games, campfires, s'mores, and movies. Dens will also have time to complete advancement activities during the campout. A pack potluck dinner is held on Saturday evening, and the pack will cook breakfast on Sunday morning. Oftentimes a short religious service is held before scouts and families are dismissed for the day.

The Pack 3952 campout takes many hands to make it happen. During the campout please see a den leader for ways to help out.
