Week 2 of meeting the PTO board introduces yours truly - the girlie behind these posts.

Caiti Ferguson is your Corresponding Secretary and is in charge of all things communication. Your emails, newsletters, ParentSquare, IG, FB...you name it I send it. I have two in BC this year - second grade and kindergarten - and I love being a part of this community more than anything. If you see me at any events, come say hi! I'm usually the one behind some sort of camera gadget.

As the seasons change and you're cleaning out your closets and getting rid of too-small clothes, please keep our BC Community Yard Sale in mind. You can reserve a space in the lot and sell to the neighborhood on September 26th, or you can come treasure hunt while you sip coffee.

Did you know that you could earn money for our school when you grocery shop? Remember box tops from when you were a kid? They're still a great fundraiser with no crazy hoops to jump over!

You can download the app and scan your receipts from shopping within 14 days of purchasing and your job is done. The app finds the box top products for you to find your school!

Walmart shoppers have it even easier - if you're connected through the your Walmart account and you pay with the same payment method you have in the app, no other steps are required! It will automatically add the box tops!

So get on the app and start your grocery shopping - fundraising for your school has never been so easy!

We know that the influx of school emails the first month back is insane. There is so much information and you have to sort through each one to figure out where the teacher newsletter is, where the school news is, what if the school district has an announcement. Involved in sports? Did your child join a club? Don't get me started.

This is starting to sound like one of those cheesy infomercials, but I swear it's actually helpful.

I know the thought of another app makes your head want to explode, but I'm telling you ParentSquare is going to change the way you get information from DASD. With features like 194 language in-app translations, volunteer Signups and forms all in one place for 99% of the groups and schools you're a part of, it's going to be a game changer for us parents.

I know...the first week of school is done and you're so ready for the weekend. Same...

Before you start your Friday night, we wanted to remind parents that we are still looking for volunteers to help plan and execute Fun Run (which is already 6 weeks away) & Trunk-or-Treat. Some things you could help organize are featured above, but are of course not limited to that. You would NOT be doing this single-handedly. The board will be there to physically help but also help plan and support you by any means necessary.
