The Well is a community center in Downingtown run by Hopewell United Methodist Church with this mission: To share God’s love with the Downingtown area by providing physical, emotional, and spiritual support to the community.

As we enjoy these last days of summer, we are also looking forward to the start of school and welcoming our students back for after-school programs! The Well is too quiet without you!! Thanks to some generous donors, all of our students received new backpacks and supplies. They were so excited to pick them out! (Not everyone wanted their picture taken 😉)

One of the highlights of each summer is the time we spend at Innabah Camp and Retreat Center! Both last year and this year, thanks to a generous donation from the DO Good Foundation, we spent a whole week of day camp at Innabah! Our camp included swimming, challenge courses and teamwork games, boating, nature exploring, and ice cream! What a great way to wrap up our summer camp experience.🍦💦🌞

Thank you St. Anthony's Lodge & Swim Club for another great summer of swimming!! Thank you for opening your doors and pool to us year after year. Pool day is always a camp favorite!! On our last swim day, we took a photo with Mr. Vito and some of the lifeguards who help keep us safe. And we worked on a thank you poster for our friends at St. Anthony's.

Our field trip last week included bowling, Chick-fil-a lunch, and gym time at Hopewell UMC, Downingtown, PA! What a great day! Some of our students loved playing and imagining in one of the classrooms too.

One of our favorite activities of camp so far was our visit to Arbor Terrace Exton last week! We enjoyed celebrating our nations 250th birthday with the residents and working on crafts together. We love these intergenerational moments to learn from each other!

Last week, we welcomed Pastors Amy and Ally for devotions before our camp activities. Pastor Amy was treated to a meal in our homemade dining room! 🍽

Our crew had a blast at Camp Dreamland VBS at Hopewell UMC, Downingtown, PA last week! We learned about the ways God has spoken through dreams and explored what dreams God is planting in each of us. We loved having our middle schoolers with us! They each had a leadership role during the week and did a great job supporting this large camp of 200 kids. More pics to come!

Summer are for fresh fruit!! We had a yummy cooking day with Jenn Barr from Downingtown/Kennett Nutrition & Weight Management Centers! What a healthy and delicious summer treat!

Not even a little rain can keep us from the pool! In fact, the weather kept many people home so we had the pool to ourselves! Thank you to St. Anthony's Lodge & Swim Club for welcoming our campers with open arms for another summer!!

An important part of our Well camp is gathering for a morning devotion to look for God's movement in our lives and explore what it means to love others well. Last week, those devotions were led by Pastor Vicki and Miss Jen!

We also had some time for free play and games! We're so grateful for the pace of summer to laugh, have fun, and spend time learning about God's love for us.
