Troop 2 had another wonderful camping weekend at good ole Friends of Treasure Island.

Barge rides, archery, conservation projects, Gaga, volley ball, museum, Indian Lore, bacon competition, campfire program, and much more. There are so many reason to visit the isle.

Special thanks to JT, Steve, Hank, Doug, Felicia and the rest of the crew for making this yet again another wonderful experience for our Scouts and Scouters.

Can’t wait for our next adventure there. If this looks like fun to you, come join us for your next adventure.

Memorial Day Ceremony 2026 at St Joseph Parish Downingtown Cemetery.

Thanks to all the Scouts and Scouters that attended to honor our Fallen. Even in the less than ideal weather it is good to be Reverent of our Creator and for those that pay the ultimate price for the Freedoms he has given us.

Today as we honor those that have fallen spare a moment to be Reverent.

Maybe say an extra thank you in the prayer before your barbecue, go to a gravesite ceremony, go to a memorial ceremony.

Give thanks and remember that the reason we are free is because of the brave.

BSA Troop 2 - Downingtown is looking for someone that can sandblast a school bus for a reasonable cost. We have a bus that needs to get blasted so that we can paint it and the guy that was going to do it for us is having issues.

Any one have a company or know of one that can do a bus? We have already lost our window at our painter due to not having the bus ready for painting and don’t want to keep delaying it.

Troop 2 was honored to have two more of our Troop complete their Ordeal as well as three of our Troop seal their brotherhood in Octoraro Lodge #22 this weekend.

The weather may have had a bit too much Scouting Sunshine but much work was done at both Camp Horseshoe and Chester County Council Camp John H. Ware Boy Scout Camp.

7 of our scouts participated in a service day for VFW Post 287 in Coatesville.

8 hrs of service including raking leaves, removal of waste, cleaning the rooms for the homeless vets, filled about 2/3 of a 30yd dumpster, painting and more. Super proud of those scouts for proving that a scout is helpful.

Two of our scouts headed down to St Peters Basilica Philadelphia Pa for National Catholic Committee on Scouting® annual Scout Mass where once again Troop 2 earned the Pope Paul VI Gold Unit award along with Cub Scout Pack 2 - Downingtown.

Thanks to BSA Chester County Council Religious Emblem Coordinator for organizing and St Joseph Parish Downingtown for all the assistance.

On this Christmas Eve, Troop 2 wishes you and yours the merriest of holidays.

As a Scout we should all practice the Scout Law now as well as every day of the year.

Helpful - much like the photo of Santa needing a little helping hand in the Rockwell photo attached, a good Scout reaching out a helping hand to those in need.

Thrifty - not every present needs to be the most expensive gadget or experience. Sometimes the best gift a Scout can give is time and attention.

Obedient - it’s funny how well children want to behave this time of year knowing that Santa is on his way. Maybe starting in this Advent Season we all promise to be a little more willing to listen and follow God’s direction.

Reverent - let us, all of us, Scouts and Scouters alike, remember the reason for the season. As we celebrate Christmas and the birth of our Savior let each of us pledge on our Honor to be like the Bethlehem Star and guide those in need yet also to be like the magi seeking the One that will save us and offer our gifts unto him.

May this Christmas season fill you with blessings, peace and joy.
