Our team is dedicated to empowering you to navigate the system with ease. Louise Resource Services (StLRS) is a multi-service organization that connects people to available health insurance and nutrition programs and provides referrals to other social service agencies. StLRS prioritizes the importance of compassionate care for the most sensitive needs. As a Certified Enrollment Entity for Covered

California, our friendly and bilingual Certified Application Counselors and staff are available to help individuals navigate program information and requirements. We are available to answer questions throughout the process.

- We will act as a liaison between the individual and specialty programs and ensure follow-through.

- We will advocate for individual needs and ensure wrap-around services that are appropriate to achieve desired result.

- Promote preventative healthcare and how to get the most out of your health benefits.

- Address myths and provide accurate information about the application process of government-sponsored programs that will not affect immigration status. Additionally, our mobile office is a unique way to provide assistance at community events and locations on scheduled days. Our mobility provides flexibility and cross functionality, allowing us to accompany individuals through navigating benefits in local, comfortable, and familiar environments.

"The life of an undocumented child brings special challenges not found in books on their library shelves: feelings of isolation from neighbors, the burden of secrecy, and constant fear of deportation," writes librarian and author Natalie Dias Lorenzi for The Pragmatic Mom.

"As a librarian, these books are difficult to match with the kids who need them, because a child obviously isn’t going to come up to me and say, 'I’m in this country illegally. Do you have any books with characters like me?'

I’d love to add more titles to this list, so if you have other recommendations for books with characters who are undocumented, I’d love to hear about them!"
