✨ WELCOME TO THE DFEO BOARD, HECTOR SOSA! ✨

We’re excited to welcome Former Downey Mayor and current City Council Member Hector Sosa as our newest Downey Foundation Board Member!

Hector is a proud Warren High School alumnus who has been deeply involved in the Downey community for many years. He’s a strong believer in keeping kids engaged in positive, enriching activities and is passionate about the work DFEO does and the students we serve.

Hector previously served as President of Gangs Out of Downey, and his connection to DFEO is personal—his son was one of our very first students, taking violin classes with us for three years!🎻

Hector shares that he’s excited to make a meaningful impact at DFEO and within our community, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him on our Board. We’re looking forward to his ideas, leadership, and feedback as we continue to grow and strengthen DFEO programming. 💙 Welcome, Hector!

✨ We were honored to support the 11th Annual State of the Schools Breakfast, benefiting the TLC Family Resource Center!

TLC provides vital services that make a real difference for Downey Unified families, and we’re proud to stand behind their important work. 💙

It was a wonderful morning celebrating education and community—joined by our Downey Unified partners, Downey City Council Members, and so many amazing community supporters who share our commitment to Downey’s students and families.

Price Panthers had a blast participating in Lunch Bunch this past Thursday! 🐾 They got creative by making yogurt-covered strawberries (Santa hats), whipping up whipped cream for their hot cocoa, and, of course, preparing some delicious hot cocoa! ☕🍓 They had so much fun cutting strawberries and whipping yogurt for the perfect holiday treat. ❄️🎄

¡Los Price Panthers se divirtieron muchísimo participando en Lunch Bunch este pasado jueves! 🐾 Se pusieron creativos haciendo fresas cubiertas con yogurt (sombreros de Santa), batieron crema para su chocolate caliente y, por supuesto, prepararon un delicioso chocolate caliente. ☕🍓 ¡Se divirtieron mucho cortando fresas y batiendo yogurt para el toque perfecto de las fiestas! ❄️🎄
