This was the fifth time we've held a "Rock for Jami" event in memory and honor of my late sister Jamison. Our non-profit connected with Anthony here on Facebook and the timing worked out that he was free to shoot our event. As you can see, his work speaks for itself! His photos are absolutely fantastic and we couldn't be happier with how he was able capture the joy and energy of the event. He was a professional to work with throughout the entire process and turns out he's also a great guy! We will definitely be reaching out to him again for our next event! We could not be happier with the results! Thank you Anthony!

Wow. What a wonderful night last night! Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, bid, volunteered, or supported from afar. It was so great to see so many new faces last night- we’re so grateful to have you as part of the La Sorella community!

We’re especially grateful to the American Legion for hosting La Sorella this year, especially Bob and Emily, for all their help and support with planning and logistics, and of course Danielle and Alex for taking care of us at the bar!

So much great music, conversation, and laughter last night… thank you all for supporting La Sorella and helping us raise money for ovarian cancer research in Jami’s memory. We know she was smiling, laughing, and rocking right along with us. ❤️💜🩵

One of the reasons ovarian cancer is so deadly, is that it’s often undetectable until it’s already at stage 3 or 4. This promising new research looks at certain bio markers like a “fingerprint” for the disease, via a simple blood test that will hopefully become a screening tool in the near future.

These kinds of innovations are part of the reason why we continue to raise money for this research! To help fund Dr. Miller and many others like him, consider making a donation to La Sorella or purchasing a ticket to our fundraiser this evening. Our hope is to make even a little difference in the lives of women and their families dealing with this disease now and into the future.

In the KVIA ABC-7 segment, journalist Marcel Clarke speaks with researcher Daniel Heller, PhD, of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center about his innovative work that’s bringing new hope for detecting ovarian cancer at its earliest stages through a simple blood test. This research is supported by OCRA in partnership with Microsoft’s AI for Good Lab (Microsoft Research).

We've played around with different formats for La Sorella over the years, and this time around we're excited because all the bands featured are people we know and love.

So of course we are thrilled (and so grateful) to have The TBD Band as our headliner this year! These guys rock - and they are some of the nicest dudes you'll ever meet.

In their own words:

The TBD is the quintessential dad band: they met through their kids’ elementary school and discovered a common love for playing music. It started out in 2017 with two guys strumming acoustic guitars on back porches and morphed into a full four-piece band playing rock covers from the 1960s to today.

Playing for friends at block parties and birthday gatherings, a band name was never on anyone’s mind, so for one gig they were just billed as The TBD, and the name stuck. TBD could mean anything from The Basement Dads, to The Band Dads, or the Thundering Bass Dudes - whatever works in the moment.

Larry Silverman - Guitar, Harmonica, Vocals
He got his first real six-string at 13. He’s seen a million faces and rocked them all.

Dr. Aaron Lee (a real doctor) - Guitar, Vocals
They call him Dr. Love. He’s got the cure you're thinking of.

Marcus Magnusson - Bass, Vocals
He’s all about that bass, ‘bout that bass - no treble.

Chris Schlueter - Drums
He doesn't want to work - he wants to bang on the drum all day (yes he does).
