CompTIA’s 2026 Workforce and Learning Trends report explores what that means for workforce development in 2026, based on perspectives from HR professionals and IT leaders.

The report highlights:

1) Skills as a business priority
➡️ 83% of organizations place a very high or moderately high priority on skill concerns.

2) AI as one part of the gap
➡️ 80% say skill gaps are at least partly driven by technology factors other than AI.

3) Development as an engagement tool
➡️ 83% expect skill development to have a high or moderate impact on morale and engagement.

4) Skills-based programs as a work in progress
➡️ Only 34% report a formal, organization-wide reskilling, or upskilling program.

5) Credentials as proof of progress
➡️ 97% say certifications play an important role in validating workforce training.

Reminder: In tech, career growth usually comes less from one big moment and more from the habits that make you more capable over time.
