The South East Association for Special Parks And Recreation (SEASPAR) provides dynamic recreation programs and quality services for individuals with disabilities served by the park districts of Clarendon Hills, Darien, Downers Grove, La Grange, La Grange Park, Lemont, Lisle, Westmont, and Woodridge, and the villages of Brookfield, Indian Head Park, and Western Springs, Illinois. Our page provides an opportunity for you to connect, share, and communicate with SEASPAR and fellow fans. We expect all of the interactions on our Page to be pertinent, respectful, and appropriate for a public forum. We have the right to remove content from our Page which falls into one or more of the following categories:

1. Comments not topically related to the particular content being commented upon;

World Inclusion Day reminds us of something we believe in every day at SEASPAR: everyone deserves the opportunity to participate, connect, and belong. 🌈

Inclusion happens in so many ways. It's the first hello that becomes a friendship. 🤝 The encouragement to try something new. 🌟 The celebration of an accomplishment, big or small. 🏆 And the joy of sharing experiences with people who make us feel welcome.

For 50 years, SEASPAR has helped create opportunities for people of all abilities to discover new interests, build confidence, and make lasting memories. 💚

And while World Inclusion Day gives us a special moment to reflect, our commitment doesn't end when the day is over.

🌟 Adventure looks good on Andrew Willer! 💚

From taking flight at SEASPAR’s first-ever iFLY special event 🪂✨ to earning second place in the deadlift at the Special Olympics Illinois Regional Powerlifting Competition 🏋️‍♂️🥈, Andrew isn’t afraid to try something new!

As an EAGLE, a Spartans Powerlifting and Bocce athlete 🏋️‍♂️🎯, and a Social Club participant, Andrew stays active throughout SEASPAR. But beyond his adventurous side, he’s known for something just as special: being a great listener, a friend to all 🤝💚, and someone who enjoys spending time with the people—and the dog 🐶—he loves.

Whether he’s competing 🏅, trying a new adventure ✨, bouncing on the trampoline with his dog 🐕, or enjoying a fire pit with his family 🔥, Andrew reminds us that sometimes you don’t need a lot of words to make a big impression. 💚

Remember when we brought a little Christmas magic to July? Well… now the REAL countdown begins! 🎅🎶

One of our favorite SEASPAR traditions is returning this December, and we can’t wait to celebrate another Holiday Spectacular filled with music, performances, friendship, and plenty of holiday cheer! ❤️💚

💙✨ NABERHAUS VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR: GINA GRAF ✨💙

Some people volunteer their time. Others bring so much heart, energy, and dedication that their presence becomes part of what makes a program special.

At this year’s Believe & Achieve Banquet, SEASPAR proudly recognized Gina Graf as our Naberhaus Volunteer of the Year!

Over the past year, Gina has supported SEASPAR through inclusion services, weekly programs, Friday night events, and EAGLES. Whether she’s cheering participants on at bowling, encouraging someone to reach a goal on the walking track, or simply asking what else she can do to help, Gina consistently goes above and beyond.

Her positivity is contagious, and the connections she has built speak for themselves—when Gina misses a program, participants notice and ask when she’ll be back. That kind of impact is measured in friendship, trust, and the joy she brings to others.

🏐✨ What a night for our SEASPAR Spartans! 💚

Our Spartans Volleyball team had some very special guests at practice as members of the Lewis University Women's Volleyball team joined us for an evening of volleyball, teamwork, and FUN! 🏐🙌

The athletes and Lewis players teamed up right from the start, creating their own team names before jumping into drills together. One of the highlights was our serving game, where each Lewis player had to protect their Spartan partner from getting hit by a serve—and let’s just say, they took their lifeguard duties VERY seriously! 😂🛟🏐

We wrapped up with a wash drill that put Lewis players and Spartans on the court together, leading to some awesome rallies, lots of encouragement, high-fives, and plenty of smiles. 🙌💚

But the best part of the night wasn’t just what happened on the court—it was the connection between the athletes. 🤝✨ Our Spartans received some great pointers, worked hard, and had a blast learning alongside the Lewis players. One Spartan even made sure to thank the team for coming and helping them play harder. 🥹🏐

A HUGE thank you to the Lewis University Women's Volleyball team for sharing your time, talent, and enthusiasm with our athletes! 💚❤️ You made our Spartans feel like stars ⭐, and now they’re ready to return that support from the stands!

📣 Next stop: cheering on the Flyers! Our Spartans are hoping to catch Lewis in action against Parkside on October 6! 🏐👏

Well, SEASPAR is right there with you! Our fall season is kicking off, and we’re ready for everything this cozy season has in store. 💚

To all our SEASPAR friends, we wish you a wonderful start to fall filled with new adventures, new friendships, lots of laughter, and maybe even a few amazing costumes we can’t wait to see! 🎃👻🍁

⭐✨ SUPER STAR AWARD: SANDY GRECO ✨⭐

A true Super Star is someone who goes above and beyond—not because they have to, but because they genuinely care about the people around them.

At this year’s Believe & Achieve Banquet, SEASPAR proudly recognized Sandy Greco with the Super Star Award!

Sandy’s impact can be felt across so many areas of SEASPAR, including day camp, youth programs, virtual programs, and special events. She takes the time to truly know our participants, build meaningful relationships, support fellow staff, and step in wherever help is needed.

Her creativity and thoughtfulness shine through in the little things, too—sharing fun program photos, creating a day camp newsletter to help families connect with staff, and finding ways to celebrate the experiences participants are having each week.

And even while living all the way in Montana, Sandy continued supporting SEASPAR through virtual programs. That kind of dedication says everything about the heart she brings to this organization. 💙

Some people don’t just show up—they bring energy, flexibility, humor, and heart everywhere they go.

At this year’s Believe & Achieve Banquet, SEASPAR proudly recognized Bill Lyons with the Leading Light Award!

Since joining SEASPAR in 2023, Bill has made an incredible impact across programs. From Actors Guild and Glee Club to Camp Timber Pointe and Spartans Flag Football, he brings his whole self to every experience—and yes, that even includes committing fully to an old-timey bathing suit during a camp fashion show. 😂

Bill is dependable, hardworking, patient, and always willing to adjust when someone needs a little extra support. He has a special way of helping participants feel comfortable, encouraging them to try something new, and bringing people together with positivity and humor.

Whether he’s performing on stage, singing alongside participants, coaching a team, or simply helping someone through a tough day, Bill creates an environment where people feel welcomed, supported, and excited to participate.
