There’s a reason our annual Witches Walk begins at Cadence every year! It’s where our witches gather, the Halloween festivities begin, and a little magic takes over downtown Downers Grove.

We’re proud to recognize Cadence Kitchen Co. as a Platinum Sponsor of DGJWC! Their continued generosity helps support our Club’s philanthropic efforts and the many ways we give back to our community throughout the year.

A little witchy advice: Support the businesses that support our community!

Thank you, Cadence, for always welcoming our coven and being such a wonderful supporter of DGJWC!

Give Those Halloween Costumes a Second Life!

Have Halloween costumes your kids have outgrown? DGJWC is collecting gently used costumes for children ages 0–12 to benefit The Outreach House in Lombard, helping more local children enjoy the fun of dressing up for Halloween.

Before you pack away those old costumes, consider donating them to a child who can enjoy them this year!

Donation Details:
- Deadline: October 20
- Drop-Off Location: 5249 Fairmount Avenue, Downers Grove (leave on porch)
- Needed: Gently used Halloween costumes for ages 0–12

A simple closet cleanout can make Halloween a little more special for a child in our community.

Please help us spread the word by sharing this post with friends, family, and neighbors!

A beautiful morning for a Maple Avenue Cleanup!

Our DGJWC crew was out bright and early doing our part to keep our community clean. A few trash bags, some teamwork, and a little fresh air later, Maple Avenue is looking a whole lot better.

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped! Small acts of service add up to a big impact in the community we call home.

We’re proud to see the Downers Grove Junior Woman’s Club featured in the September issue of Downers Grove Living Magazine , highlighting more than 65 years of friendship, leadership, service and community impact.

DGJWC’s work here in Downers Grove is also part of something much larger. As a member of GFWC Illinois and the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, we are connected to a statewide and national network of women committed to volunteer service, philanthropy and stronger communities.

This issue also recognizes GFWC Illinois President Karyn Charvat, recipient of the prestigious GFWC Jennie Award, a national honor celebrating extraordinary commitment to club, community and family.

We’re grateful to Downers Grove Living for shining a light on the work of local clubwomen and the broader impact of GFWC.

One day. One purpose. A worldwide commitment to service.

On Saturday, September 26, the Downers Grove Junior Woman’s Club will join GFWC clubs across the country and around the world for the 2026 GFWC International Day of Service.

This year’s focus is helping end domestic and sexual violence. Through education, awareness, community partnerships and hands-on service, GFWC members are coming together to support survivors and help strengthen communities.

DGJWC is proud to be part of this collective day of action, and we’ll be sharing more soon about how our Club will participate right here in our community.
