Race 5 Recap

👏🏻Another wonderful series with HKRS-DG! I absolutely love being your coordinator and am so humbled by this entire experience. These little ones run their hearts out. I truly hope your reflections are are positive and rewarding. Running is a tough sport anyone who crossed the finish line has something to be proud of!!

💚Dear Volunteers,
Thank you for showing up every week. We value your time, but most important YOU! This crew has worked so so hard each and every week. They set up, organize our registration table, lead the pack of runners, encourage participants to the finish, organize starting line, record results at the finish, and clean it all up! Incredible. We could NOT do this without you all! Thank you.

👟Dear Parent Mile Runners- Way to Get up and Go!! Thank you for participating and making our transition to the awards ceremony way more fun than waiting around!! You are all winners and belong on that course! Isn’t it nice to get the cheer and steers for a change??

It has been magical having Coach Sharis start our event with an enthusiastic warm up. Then host an exciting vendor area with soccer goals. And-jumping in to help keep our long distance runners safe and happy! She loves us and we love her. Come Back!!!!

🌺Race FOUR Recap🌺

The weather we had made it feel like a tropical storm was blowing in!! So much wind. This didn’t stop our runners from getting to the finish line. As I said-this is my favorite race and after this one…it still is!

💚Happy Birthday to our volunteer RYAN!! It was so kind of you to donate your time to us on your birthday!
Thank you to everyone that helped. Registration, starting like, race rabbits, and finish like. I couldn’t ask for a better group of people. Dream Team!!

⚽️Coach Sharis from Soccer Shots of DuPage County was back to warm up our youngest runners, kept our 1/2 milers safe at the start, and had the best attitude that encouraged all!

💟If you haven’t had a chance to snag a photo in front of the yard sign from Kindly Social by Signs & Love head over by the Gaga pit-it’s been donated every week!

🌻NO RACES NEXT WEEK! We will resume and host our final race in May 17.

Race THREE Recap!
What a perfect day for a race-the weather could not have been better for running. This, plus the confidence on the course, had me entering so many improved times!

Race TWO Recap
🌦️What a race day! Nature really tested us, but we prevailed. There were many improved times this week. I also heard of a few PRs! Rain, sleet, or shine HKRS-DG can race in it all! The Cheer and Steer spectators really kept these races going!

💚Thank you to the volunteers who braved the rain during set up, rabbits who pushed through the winds, and clean up crew to stayed during the cold! I mean it-Dream Team!
