Come join us at beautiful Clear Lake Camp in Dowling, MI!
Welcome back to Bob Isaacs! Welcome to Toss the Possum!
We had so much fun last year, that we asked Bob to return this year! Toss the Possum makes hot contra dance music – an incredible contra dance band, they also play many other styles of dance music. (Wait until you hear their beautiful original waltzes.) Laura Zisette plays piano, with son Rob Zisette on fiddle.
Check out this YouTube video from May 2024, recorded at the Appalachian Folk School. Bob Isaacs is calling “Butter” by Gene Hubert, and Toss the Possum is playing the tunes. https://youtu.be/Asw749-aGNo?si=Z0326YhmEwHSEiil We’re going to have such a good time this year!

New in 2025, we’re introducing a sliding scale for Full Weekend Registration Age 30+. The range is $225 up to $275 (or more.) We invite you to pay the highest rate that is comfortable for you. There is a pull-down menu to choose the price you will pay. If you want to contribute even more, please use the Donate button - and thank you very much!
Why are we using a sliding scale? It’s no secret that weekend dances are becoming more expensive every year, as all related costs climb. Yet, we want as many dancers as possible to be able to afford to dance with us at Trillium Twirl. If our dancers are willing and can afford to pay more, then other dancers can pay less and still dance. It's only the Full Weekend for age 30+ that is affected.
Also new for 2025, to help keep costs down, we're printing and mailing out fewer registration brochures, and instead taking advantage of email to communicate. You can still print the brochure at home and mail it, if that is better for you. https://bit.ly/TT-brochure-download (If you want me to mail a brochure to you, just let me know!)
Residential Dance Camp
Remember that we are a residential dance camp, that your registration fee includes lodging both nights, all meals beginning on Saturday morning through lunch on Sunday – plus our famous Friday night potluck dinner! You get to dance and participate in all activities, including the onsite hiking trails, a guided nature walk with camp staff, use of the canoes on Clear Lake, visits to the camp’s Bird Watching Cabin, that has one-way glass, allowing you to see the birds close-up.
There is lots more information on the website, plus more will be added as it becomes available, and as we get closer to April.
If you have questions, contact:
David Baur, Trillium Twirl Committee Chair at [email protected]
Rita Chapman, TT Registrar & Webmaster (with lots of help from Michael Bean!) at [email protected]
We so look forward to seeing all your bright sunny smiles on the dance floor and around camp!
See you soon in Dowling, Michigan!
