SUPPORTING ONE OF THEIR OWN
The Big 4 Volunteer Fire Department community is rallying around one of their own as a local family faces an unexpected and heartbreaking challenge.

Cassidy Lyons, a young wife and mother in her early 20s, was recently diagnosed with bone cancer after a tumor was discovered in her tibia. On June 10th, she will undergo amputation surgery as she begins a long and difficult journey toward recovery.

Cassidy’s husband, Kash, serves with Big 4 Fire Department, and the department is coming together to support their family during this time of need.

To help ease some of the financial and emotional burden, a benefit dinner and fundraiser is being organized prior to June 10th. The department is currently seeking:
• A venue or building
• Food and beverage donations
• Desserts or baked goods
• Raffle and silent auction items
• Monetary contributions
• Volunteers to help with the event
• Businesses or individuals willing to sponsor or assist in any way

Anyone who would like to donate, volunteer, sponsor, or help support the fundraiser is encouraged to reach out directly.

Above all, continued prayers are appreciated for Cassidy, Kash, and their family as they navigate the difficult days ahead.

Tonight is the departments monthly meeting. We will be testing the storm sirens around 6:00pm. We will continue to do this at every meeting UNLESS it's stormy weather then we will not test them. Our monthly meetings are the first Wednesday of the month at 6:00pm.

FIRE DEPARTMENT MEMBER KILLED: Heartbreaking news for the Guymon Fire Department… a house fire killed one of their EMTs early this morning.

49-year-old Steven Coen who lived in Goodwell was pulled from his burning house, but did not survive.

“Steven is a member of the Guymon Fire Department and is an active EMT on the department’s EMS Division,” said Guymon Fire Chief Grant Wadley. “This is a huge loss.” 💔

Steven was heavily involved in the EMS Division for Guymon for the past 10 years and was even scheduled to work EMS detail during this weekend’s Pioneer Days Rodeo as a First Responder. He also worked as an EMT in Ho**er, Oklahoma, covering calls to allow their members time off.

Details of the fire are being investigated by the Oklahoma Fire Marshal Office, Oklahoma Medical, Goodwell Police Department, and Goodwell Fire Department.
