Forrest’s Orphans Camp 1744 - SCV

During tonight’s meeting, Brother Richard Garcia from the Tennessee Division gave a presentation on Hispanics that served in the Confederate States Army. Afterwards, Brother Tanner Davis informed the camp about a Confederate soldier buried in Slaughters, Kentucky named John Anderson Brooks, who our camp is planning on holding a ceremony for sometime later this year.

On August 2nd, 2025, the Kentucky and Tennessee Divisions of the SCV will hold a memorial service at Fort Donelson National Battlefield at the Confederate Monument at the Battlefield park. More information is listed in the photo below. We hope to see our other brothers from the Kentucky and Tennessee divisions there.

Last night the Forrest’s Orphans Camp had our monthly meeting. Brother Spencer Brewer gave his flag presentation, the 3 flags he presented were the flag of the First Arkansas Regiment, the flag of General Van Dorn, and the flag of the State of Arkansas.
