The Power Outage lasted about 4 hours. Although everyone was okay and we made games out of it and lit candles. It’s just another painful reminder as a parent that you need to be over prepared.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah — Nearly all of Washington County in southern Utah was without power after a widespread outage that began late Thursday afternoon.

On Thursday, Dixie Power originally reported 30,267 customers were without power in their coverage of the Dixie area. Rocky Mountain Power showed over 6,548 customers were without power in St. George and surrounding areas in the county.

Officials said the grid is still recovering and a "Red Alert" is in place for residents to conserve energy. Residents should limit power between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., which is the "highest-risk window as solar generation drops off and evening household demand spikes," the city wrote.

People should delay using heavy appliances until after 7 p.m. Saturday

My pilot was on and kept the water hot but it went out it’s not the best day at all. Another call off work, another night in the dark . as a mother we always do our best but my children don’t deserve this my area needs power soon

This is how being woefully unprepared looks,If you can't deal with 2 weeks without power, you definitely aren't ready for a SHTF, civil war scenario.
