VegDover is a friendly social and outreach organization that promotes healthy, sustainable, and compassionate plant-based eating! We're not just for vegetarians and vegans - we welcome Everyone, and are veg-friendly to all. We especially welcome those who are curious and want to learn more about the many benefits of choosing meat-free meals. We're based in Dover, Delaware and the surrounding areas
, including Milford, Harrington, Camden, and Middletown. VegDover hosts events year-round, including informal get-togethers at new or favorite restaurants. We hold regular monthly Happy Hours, and 'Meatless Monday' lunches. We share friendship and conversation, meet new friends, and enjoy great food! We also share recipes and Vegetarian Starter Kits. We welcome All: vegetarians and vegans, part-time vegetarians, flexitarians, and meat-eaters who want to cut back on meat and learn about healthier new ways of eating. Veg eating is better for your health, for the animals, and for the planet. We are big supporters of the popular Meatless Monday movement, a global campaign initiated by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, in which people pledge to cut out meat one day a week. Eliminating meat just one day a week cuts saturated fat and reduces the risk of obesity, diabetes, stroke, heart disease, and cancer. Going meatless one day a week can also decrease our carbon footprint and save precious resources like fresh water and fossil fuel. The Meatless Monday movement is sweeping the country, as individuals, businesses, hospitals, chefs, colleges, and entire school districts are joining in.
