The Dover Veterans Memorial United States Flag was lowered to half staff at sunrise to mourn, respect, and honor fallen service members who paid the ultimate price for our freedom, then raised to full-staff at noon to show patriotism, respect and honor that we have such persons willing to pay the ultimate price for the feeedom we hold dear.

The Dover Lions Club got out this morning alongside the Pope Co. Masters Gardners Club and the Dover Pirates Wrestling team to work on the community garden. There has been a lot of work put in to this project and it is really showing!!! Much thanks is appreciated. 🦁

Members of the Dover Lions Club met to lower the U. S. flag in Dover to half staff on Tuesday evening. This was in honor of long time Dover Lions Club member and State Representative, Stan Berry. The flag will remain at half staff until Friday at sundown pursuant to Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders' proclamation honoring Representative Berry. Our hearts continue to go out to his family.

The Dover Lions Club is saddened to hear of the passing of our own fellow Lion, Stan Berry. Stan was a charter member of the Dover Lions Club in 1988, and was a Melvin Jones Fellow. He served Dover as an active member of the Club for over 37 years, giving not only of his time and money, and of his heart. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mona and his children and grandchildren at this difficult time. Stan Berry will be dearly missed by the Dover Lions Club.

I would like to express my gratitude to all parties involved in organizing Ozark Memories Days, the Lion's Club pancake breakfast, the vision screening trailer, and all that came out to participate. This is no easy task to accomplish, and I sincerely appreciate all the hard work!!! The Dover Lion's Club thanks you all!!

The Dover Lions Club with be set up at Ozark Memories Day, Saturday, September 27 offering vision screening. Come look us up, especially if your children have not been previously screened for potential vision problems. We screen adults too. It is quick and free!

Our trailer will be set up on the road near the Amphitheater. We will begin free vision screenings after the parade.

Eighty percent of all visual impairment can be prevented or cured. The first step to prevention is awareness. The second is early detection through vision screening. Around the world, Lions partner with medical professionals and community leaders to screen young children, primary school students, and adults to identify those at risk for vision loss.
