We are proud to see Capital School District students and staff featured by Spotlight Delaware for the hands-on learning happening through Healthy Foods for Healthy Kids school gardens. Our students are planting, observing, harvesting, and connecting classroom learning to real food that can show up in their lunches.

This is what meeting the needs of the whole child looks like: science in action, healthier habits, teamwork, and leadership growing right alongside the vegetables.

Fairview and Central students closed out the year with a Spanish Immersion Showcase that highlighted music, performance, and traditions from Hispanic countries.

Students took the stage with confidence and shared what they have been learning all year through songs and presentations that reflected culture and language in meaningful ways. This celebration showcased student growth and reminded us why immersive learning matters.

Thank you to our staff and families for supporting students throughout the year and helping make this end-of-year moment possible.

East Dover Early Childhood Center celebrated Leadership Day last week, welcoming families and community guests into our building to see what leadership looks like for our Littlest Senators.

Visitors explored student leadership portfolios, learned about the 8 Habits as a Leader in Me Lighthouse School, visited classrooms, and heard how our students take on leadership roles through accountability partners and daily routines that build responsibility and confidence.

Thank you to everyone who attended, encouraged our students, and helped strengthen a culture of belonging, consistency, and coherence from the very start.

Booker T. Washington Elementary opened its doors last Friday for Leadership Day, and the building was full of energy, purpose, and pride.

Students led the way from start to finish, showcasing how the Leader in Me framework helps them set goals, reflect, and take ownership of their learning. Guests experienced the Growth Parade, chorus performances, student-guided tours, classroom learning highlights, and portfolio presentations, all led by students who spoke with confidence and clarity about their growth.

Thank you to everyone who showed up to celebrate our students, including staff, families, board members, and local leaders. When our community shows up like this, our students know they belong and their leadership matters.
