***SCAM ALERT: FAKE COURT NOTICES***

The Dover Police Department has become aware that fraudulent “Notice of Hearing – Traffic Violation / Toll Violation” letters being sent to residents.

These notices are NOT legitimate.

They may appear official and often include a QR code demanding payment while threatening court action.

Indicators that this is a false summons:
• No name of who the summons has been issued
• No vehicle description
• No license plate number
• No date of incident

Do NOT:
• Scan the QR code
• Click any links
• Provide personal or financial information

If you receive one:
• Do not respond
• Verify the notice through an official court or county website
• Report as spam on your phone and block the number

These scams are designed to look real, but they are not issued by any legitimate court. Courts DO NOT send summons out via text message.

This is a bit of info on last night’s fire at the business of the Mayor of Dover.
Unfortunately I am already reading some VERY disturbing commentaries. It is my opinion that there should be no commenting or assumptions made by anyone until the fire is investigated. Hearing that the Police Department and other town employees may be involved is pure speculation and very dangerous. I urge everyone to keep an open mind and fan of his or not, keep him in your prayers. 🙏

Emergency perssonel are respondong to a 3 alarm structure fire at 331 Richards Ave. in Dover. People are possibly trapped.

Update: No injuries reported. The building is owned by the Mayor of Dover.

I find it very sad that some people are going after the Chief of Police when he is going through so much with his family. It’s just sad. There is a time and place for everything. Everyone has the right to their opinion but sometimes being an adult and taking the higher road at least for a while would be the right thing to do. It says a lot about the character of some people. 🥺🥺

***ROAD CLOSURE - BLACKWELL ST - PARADE***

Please be advised East Blackwell Street will be closed today (11/30) at or around 4:30pm and will remain closed for the duration of the Holiday Parade. Police Officers will be on scene to assist.

The Parade will begin at the intersection of Prospect Street and Blackwell Street and travel to Essex Street where it will turn and travel towards JFK Park.

Bergen Street and Prospect Street will remain open to allow for cross traffic and to help reduce congestion.

Please plan accordingly.
