⛪️ Location: Wyoming United Methodist Church (216 Wyoming Mill Road Dover, Delaware 19904)
Here are some Night to Shine Dover questions and answers that might be helpful!
⭐️ 1. Can I drop my attendee off and leave?
You can drop your attendee(s) off starting at 5:30 PM (no earlier please) and pick them up at the conclusion of the prom (9:00 PM). We ask that you please make sure your King or Queen is properly checked in for the event. At the conclusion of the event, Kings and Queens must check out with our volunteers prior to leaving.
If you have signed up to stay and enjoy Respite on the King and Queen registration, we hope you will stay and enjoy the Respite area with light refreshments.
⭐️ 2. Will you have medical staff on site and can they administer medications?
Yes, we have our wonderful certified nurses from Integrity Nursing LLC, who will be on staff with us during our evening to assist with any medical issues that should occur.
Please note, our nursing staff will NOT be administering any kind of medication. In the event medication is needed by any of our attendees, that will need to be given by their parent/guardian/caretaker.
⭐️ 3. What should guests of honor wear?
This is a prom so feel free to go all out and get fancy! Please note, prom dresses and tuxes are NOT required.
⭐️ 4. What kind of food will be served for the Kings and Queens?
We will have both grilled and fried chicken tenders, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad and rolls served to our guests prepared by the Dover High School Culinary Department, Capital Cafe. We will also have chocolate and vanilla cupcakes for dessert. This includes gluten free and sugar free cupcake options available as well! Tea, lemonade and water will be served as beverages.
⭐️ 5. Who will be there to assist my attendee?
We will have trained volunteers (with background checks) throughout the prom to monitor the prom area as well as assist our attendees.
⭐️ 6. What time does Night to Shine Dover start and end?
Check in for all those attending will begin promptly at 5:30 PM, please do not drop off or arrive for check in prior to that time.
The event starts at 6:00 PM.
Please pick your attendees up at the conclusion of the prom at 9:00 PM.
⭐️ 7. How do we enter the facility where Night to Shine Dover will be held?
Please enter through the main doors of Wyoming United Methodist Church. There will be volunteers to guide our attendees through the entrance doors to check in as well as a place to check their coats in the event they bring a coat. The event will be held in the main hall of the Church and the facility, including bathrooms, is handicap accessible.
⭐️8. Is there only one Prom King and Prom Queen?
ALL attendees will be crowned Kings and Queens of the prom!
⭐️ 9. Will there be corsages and boutonnières for the attendees?
Yes! For our Queens we will have wrist corsages made with silk flowers and for our Kings we will have boutonnieres with magnets to “pin it on.”
⭐️ 10. Will there be a sensory area?
Yes! For our attendees looking for a quiet space, we will have a sensory area separate from the main dancing area!
⭐️ 11. Will my attendee be in a safe environment?
Yes, your attendee will be in a safe environment. All volunteers at Night to Shine Dover will have had volunteer training as well as a background check prior to our event!
⭐️ 12. What happens to Night to Shine Dover in the event of inclement weather?
We all know we have had our fair share of winter weather this season. In the event of inclement weather, the committee of Night to Shine Dover will collaborate with the host church to determine the status of the surrounding roads and parking lot. We will post any and all updates on our page!
