Empowering the next generation of women in the trades.

Join us for PowerHER Tools: Building Futures in the Trades, an inspiring event designed to introduce young women to high-demand careers in construction and skilled trades. From HVAC and electrical to automotive and more, students will hear directly from women who are breaking barriers and building successful careers in traditionally male-dominated industries.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about career pathways in the trades, explore post-secondary education options, and connect with mentors and workforce professionals who can help guide their journey.

The event will take place on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at The Teen Warehouse in Wilmington, Delaware. This powerful collaboration between Big Brothers Big Sisters of Delaware’s Beyond School Walls program and Teen Warehouse is focused on opening doors and creating pathways for young women to thrive.

Please join us as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Delaware, in partnership with the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce, celebrates the groundbreaking of our new Youth Enrichment Center in Dover! The event will take place on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM at 3156 Forrest Avenue.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Delaware's Youth Enrichment facility will serve as a dedicated hub for mentoring, workforce development, academic enrichment, and youth empowerment, creating meaningful opportunities for young people across Central Delaware. A key feature of the center will be a state-of-the-art multimedia hub, including an esports gaming center, recording studio, and digital production space, designed to introduce youth to emerging career pathways in technology, media, and content creation.

The ceremony will include a formal groundbreaking, remarks from community leaders and dignitaries, and a preview of the project’s vision, construction timeline, and future impact. Guests will also have the opportunity to connect with BBBSDE staff and supporters. Together, we’re building more than a facility; we’re building futures.
