Four hundred proud American flags will be on display from May 22 to 28th, at Delaware Tech Terry Campus, at the corner of Scarborough Road and Route 13, Dover, according to Chuck Desch, president, Dover Capital City Rotary Club.
The annual program is a collaboration between Dover's Capital City Rotary Club and Terry campus to raise funds for scholarships and community projects. Participants pay $50 to sponsor a flag. They and their honoree will be listed in a double page display in the Delaware State News on Thursday, May 22nd.
Businesses can also highlight their support by a corporate sponsorship of the program or through multiple flags, naming employees.
"We often think of heroes as first responders like military, fire, and police but can also include anyone who has positively influenced someone's life," said Michelle Bergold, the club's program coordinator. "It could a teacher, mentor, parent, colleague, health care worker, neighbor, or anyone who has reached out to others."
Contact [email protected] or 302 272-0914 for more information or to be mailed a registration form. The deadline for participation is May 9. Contributions are tax-deductible. Make checks payable to: Dover Capital City Rotary Service Club (DCCRSC) 209 Manor Drive, Middletown, DE 19709.
