Our LEOs risk their lives every day to keep us safe. What they do and see on a daily basis takes a physical and mental toll on them. Add the constant criticism and attacks on their ethics by the mainstream media, failures of the Justice system, and more and more violent crimes, they need to know they are not forgotten. With this in mind, a small group of us here in Delaware decided we needed to do
something…., something that would show all of Law Enforcement that their sacrifice to their communities is not taken for granted. The painting of the blue lines by the Blue Line Bandits is a way for us to show the silent majority support and hopefully alleviate some of the mental stress of the hatred and badgering that they see and hear every day across all avenues of the media so they can focus on what they do - be our heroes. The BLB had finally had enough of the undermining of our Law Enforcement Community by AG Kathy Jennings during and after the George Floyd incidents last year in Delaware and felt we needed to show our frustrations. On the evening of July 19th of 2020, a large group of like-minded people attended a support rally put on by "A Walk in Their Shoes" and a member of the Delaware Patriot Guard decided to run to HD and buy Blue Painters tape with the idea of applying it between the double yellow lines directly in front of the AG's office in Dover. That tape stayed down until Hurricane Isaia rain started to deteriorate the tape. On August 11, 2020, three of us got together and decided to take the chance and make the statement permanent by physically painting the line. We went somewhat dormant during that pandemic, however, Cpl Keith Heacook's murder ignited a fire under us. Instead of being true bandits, we are approaching each Law Enforcement Agency in the state to hopefully be able to add a little something to each Dept.
