π₯³π₯³ SUCCESS STORY!
We've served this kind and sweet young man for over five years, imagine our delight in hearing that the one thing he'd do to get his grades up was a shopping trip at Fostering Wishes Foundation π
We prepared a Camp Wish and Birthday Wish for him a year ago and all of his things were stolen/lost at his previous foster home. His sheets, the sneakers he was ecstatic to find and handed us his old, dirty ones so he could wear immediately, all the "just right" clothes he spent hours lovingly choosing, his favorite color Stanley cup and everything else he selected - gone.
This happens often when foster youth get moved between homes. Either a case worker forgets to take them, or waits too long to get them and other kids in the house take it for themselves. Sometimes it's put away for ""safekeeping" but can't be found in the few moments they're given to move. It's not always malicious but it is always sad.
It's heartbreaking that his belongings are missing but we're going to ensure that this teen gets replacements for everything and some new items he'll love.
Congratulations on that English grade "J", we're so proud of you and can't wait to see you on 6/16!
